Good afternoon, fellow Kings fans!

It's a little over an hour until game time. I've got my purple slippers in sight, my Christie jersey ready to don, all my little totems in the proper places, etc. I've already started the fire in the woodstove and have brought in enough wood so I won't have to stop mid-game and go out and get any.

I've got my beverage of choice chilling in the refrigerator. Non-alcoholic since you don't need an inebriated VF21 trying to do play-by-play... ;)

This should be a good game. I look for the Kings to come out focused, primarily because they didn't do that in Indiana and it well could have cost them the game.

Thanks VF21 ,,,,

I took me a little time to "get with the program" ... , but I realized last week that there's this thread with the PBP and the regular Game-Time thread that I can post my LIVE comments/remarks. I'll watch my P's and Q's this time, as long as the Kings display they've got some idea what they're doin' out there.

My purple slippers are, in fact, legendary around here. They were hand-crocheted for me by a marvelous neighbor. An elderly woman who knew I liked the Kings and took the time to make me a very special gift a couple of years ago to wear as good luck charms for the games. While the Kings haven't won EVERY game while I've worn them, the only two games when I didn't wear them were both losses. So, while they are purple slippers, they are also THE Purple Slippers!

You know something I don't know (at least, with ComCast). Tonite's game is on CSN-34 .... regu-vision.

I have no problem at all with Pedja not playing this game. In fact, I applaud the decision for a couple of reasons:

1. We do need to find someone who will be able to be a legitimate backup for him. I'd rather we did that in December than still be looking in March. If Barnes can fill the slot even marginally, then that's good to know.

2. Without Pedja, we do not win this league. Pedja has to step up and fill the "shooter" role. He can't do that with a bum leg, so if he has a bruise and it needs to heal, LET IT HEAL!

I firmly believe the Kings can beat the Bucks tonight without Pedja in the lineup.

Oh, sorry. I thought it had been mentioned that tonight was going to be the first HD telecast. :(

It doesn't apply to me anyway because I have DishNetwork and DON'T have a HD television.

Okay, we're a few minutes away from... House Party.

...sigh...

I keep expecting to see "He Who Must Not Be Named" show up in a cameo.

The Maloofs do a lot of things right. IMHO this is NOT one of those things. The cheesy set, the stupid people lolly-gagging around and the "public access TV" look of the show set my teeth on edge. I did mention the cheesy set, right?

I do like Koz and I think Kara has done an excellent job of bringing true basketball knowledge into the equation. Unfortunately, I think the show's main problem is an identity crisis. Hip and with it fluff piece OR in-depth analysis sports show? I hope they can make some kind of decision soon...

i do too! just like i knew we could win without chris the other night.
though, it scared me seeing ostertag starting. hahaha. it worked out though.

Pedja is not going to play. There's discussion about it in a thread started by kingsfan25...

The House Party started with Koz playing - badly - the accordion. It went rapidly downhill from there, and just featured some guy playing "Jingle Bells" on bicycle horns of varying pitch that he has tied all over his body.

In the words of Frank Romano, "Holy crap!"

In between, Koz had three Royal Court Dancers on and he made cheesy stupid comments about them standing under the mistletoe. (In passing, I am not very happy with this year's RCD team. They do not, IMHO, meet the usual standards of the girls on the squad and look - to be honest - cheap. Just my personal opinion and three cents, however...)

i will make the second half though.. but i get so much anxiety seeing the scores change constantly without watching.. GRRRR. ::grits teeth::

They're interviewing Tag and Brad. Tag didn't shoot anything, but said he just wanted to enjoy the time in the woods. Brad, on the other hand, did kill something - and went into detail about stringing it up, gutting it out, rinsing it, etc. I think Grant got just a little queasy...

Grant also interviewed Terry Porter. Nice things to say about Rick Adelman and the Kings...

He's saying the team has struggled because of injuries and they need to get healthy first and then just start working together. Well, Porter certainly has experience with teams in that area.
