Kings @ Bobcats Game Thread

Just heard it will be the LAST game the Bobcats will be playing at that arena. Because they get NEW arena. Must be nice. Wish Sacramento could get a new arena.

The new arena was one of the main reasons Charlotte was able to get another team. It's been in the works for three years.

Catching up to the Mavs for the 4th spot is becoming more and more out of reach after horrible games like this.

This loss falls squarely on the shoulders of Pedja.

I think even WITH Pedja...the Kings may have still lost. No one was shooting well and with PEdja coming and not playing for over a week, he may be rusty.

I am not in the least bit upset about this game. Turnovers are to be expected when you have a starting lineup of Bibby, Cat, Corliss, Thomas and Skinner on the court. In addition, we have reason for optimism because of Skinner's performance. In addition, a lot of the shots just weren't falling for the Kings. I typed "in and back out" a LOT in the PBP.

It's just a loss, and after two wins we weren't at all sure we'd get this one doesn't bother me that much at all.

Well the good thing is they can't play any worse.

It was a bad game, move on.

And as far as 4,5 or 6 spot, I personally don't think it matters. Either way they Kings have to win at least 2 road series (probably) and thats pretty tough no matter how you slice it

Wow, we took our lumps against the Bobcats. Not terribly upsetting, considering that we had a good NBA starting line-up out of action.

Here's hoping that Brad and/or Pedja and D-Song are back by tommorrow night, because this could turn into an ugly trip, let alone a game, very soon.

This game isn't worth dwelling on. Other than Skinner's performance, there isn't anything else good or bad that can be learned from a game like this. Tear it out, rip it up, throw it away.

bibby was off. the team was sloppy (especially their PG, who had 8 TOs). kinda upsetting because a lot of the TOs were unforced. i guess that's because they're not used to playing with each other.

shooting stats:
starters (not including mike): 27/49 =55%
mike +bench: 8/33 = 24%

so the starters were shooting well. i think we lost this game in the 2nd quarter and early 3rd. we just couldn't find a rhythm. we had TO after TO, and the bobcats got the hustle plays. we did cut the lead to 5 at one point but that was the closest we could get.

anyway, the positive i get from this game is skinner's play! that was nice! 15 pts, 16 rebs, 3 blks. he could be a nice backup for brad. i hope he keeps it up

^Thanks for the shooting stats on the starters, LMM. They had a lot of chances, but just going pull it out.

Tomorrow's game can only get better!!

^^i predict that he wont ever score this many points in a game the rest of the season...btw his career high is just 23...and his season high is only 10 points prior to this....furthermore his career average is only 5.5 so you can see he's not a big time scorer....so one 15 point game does not really make the trade good (or bad for that matter)...i'm not saying he's a third rate player or comparing him to c-webb in any way...but only more consistent performances would really validate his value to the team

I was more so talking about his D and rebounding, which have been consistent. Plus after three games and watching him a little the past few years, the guy is a great backup.
