Back to business where Kings are entering the 2nd part of the season (31 games left) with the 23-28 record after quick flirt with the .500 record - losing 4 out of the last 5 and 3 straight games. With new developments and hopefully some more to come in the next 4 days - Kings have a realistic shot of getting another "Spencer Hawes" type of pick but either way - nothing will stop the rebuilding process now. In case You don't remember anymore Kings are on a stretch playing 9/10 on the road and we lost the first 3 games with one in Portland coming up as a first game in the back to back set followed by the home game vs. Atlanta. After that Kings will play another 5 road games - 4 being in the East and in Allas. Also first lakers game is approaching.

Another ASB is behind us and while one can argue about the quality of the program and show at some points - one has the recognize and praise the contributions that the NBA family has had in helping the great city of N.O. The best part of the ASB is off cameras. I have been in NO during the Christmas break and that city looks like it desperately need any help that it can get because some parts of it are still in very bad shape. We always complain how much the players get paid but they also give and they deserve credit for that too.
Again one can argue about the quality of the program. I am going to be probably overly criticizing as usual but anyways - is there really a need to start the weekend off with Walton vs SAS clash. One is retarded and the other one obnoxious. And the there is Rick Bucher too. Maybe they just don't feed him enough because ... Why does BSPN still keep those retard around. Add the "celebrities" who switched from the "dancing with the stars" and You get a pile of garbage. Ms. Union and Ms. Milano can stay;). Did Rookies ever beat Sophomores ? That is boring too because it isn't even competitive.
On Saturday - You basically should keep the dunk competition and come up with other things and rotate them because it just gets boring. all the other competitions aren't interesting unless You want to watch "best" NBA players being unable to hit a wide open shot from the top of the key. .
Sunday has to stay the same. That is a tradition and it should be left alone for good.

They are all gone. Mike Bibby as the last of the Mohicans - is playing for the Hawks now and while it has been over for quite a while - this was the last tie that we had with the good times. Maybe we will never again have a team like that, hopefully we will but no matter what happens in the future there is only one first love. Everything is gone, the magic that we had that didn't last long enough and that didn't have global impact that should have had - is gone but it will never be forgotten. They will all be Kings - always and for ever. I have seen them wearing other uniforms and it felt so wrong and it still does and it will be no different on Wednesday when Mike Bibby enters ARCO wearing Hawks uniform. And he will get ovations as they all did time and time again because Kings fans know how to value something special.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was time for Mike to go or maybe even it was past that time. If we put the emotions aside - Mike Bibby was a important and integral part of the Kings who was effective as long as Webber was around. He wasn't the type of PG who would make his teammates better and as long as Webber, Vlade and DC were around - we didn't need him for that. He made shots and some of them were as big as they come. He also fit perfectly because his defense wasn't as exposed until the DC trade. Mike has still some good years ahead of him if put in a good situation. If he can get on a team where he would be 3rd or 4th option - that team would be contender. It is kinda similar to Pedja who got lucky with Hornets. Mike Bibby just isn't good enough to lead the team anywhere - any team. But Mike Bibby as a 3rd option can be great. In the last couple years his numbers are in decline but that is because he was asked to do something that he isn't capable off. Maybe Hawks won't be it but maybe the next team he ends up with will be built that way and Mike will be his old self. Hopefully, he can stay healthy.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
What did we get in return ? If we think about this season - nothing and in general - we dumped salary for the next season and we got a young player with questionable talent and work ethics to go with KT size. We really didn't lose anything either. For us to save this season - we would have had to acquire Paul James and Garnett and they would have to stay healthy. Obviously, that will never happen ever - so we finally "surrender" the playoff "hopes" which really never existed. Maybe some of the flexible pieces that we got for Bibby - will just have a pit stop in Sacramento and play somewhere else from Thursday on. None of them however are part of anything past April 15th except possibly Williams who should get a chance. Lue - the ex laker - isn't better than a back up and we don't need that. Johnson - see Lue and Wright is united with SAR just like the good old days when the sucked together playing for the Hawks. If we could do similar with Ron - that would be great. Yes, we did get a 2nd round draft pick but getting another Jabari Smith doesn't make me too excited
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now we are waiting for Thursday because Ron is still here and he shouldn't be. We don't have to make the deal but if something comes up that isn't too much of a disadvantage - we should pull a trigger. That and buying out KT would be like Christmas all over again. Bunch of teams need Ron. I don't know why but they need him and we have to be smart about it. Even if it all pays off in 2010 - it will be worth waiting for it. Noting we might do until Thursday - is being done for now, for this season. Finally, we are thinking of the future which is still uncertain but at least it can go either way compared do going nowhere which we have done for way too long.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
This isn't tanking yet and if it is - we suck at it. Assuming/hoping that Ron will play somewhere else too - we still have a team that will compete every night, a team that will win some games and a team that will spoil someone's playoff dreams. We have the same team that was very exciting before Mike and Ron came back from injuries. Same team including Williams, excluding KT and hopefully including a new dish washer for Brad. And that is if we just trade for expiring contracts. Everything else we get is a bonus. Obviously, if Ron stays - we will have no choice but to win it all::rolleyes:.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
We ALMOST won another one despite a horrible start. We hung in there and at one point we had it but of course - there is always a Horry named Novak for this occasion. It was the only FG he made. Other than that there was nothing special in a horrible game 2 bad teams except a great effort by the former King - Justin Williams:(.

AWARD TIME

We had Refer Alston abuse Mike one last time to win the TDM playing like an all star which Refer isn't and will never be.
TMac gets the LW-VC award compliments of Ron and John.
Bonzi gets the RA&1 award but we are not the Spurs.
Salmons gets the JHA award for wasting 20 minutes PT
WTF monet of the game - Refer Alston - any questions ?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Blazers are next and they are struggling as of late - losing 5 of 6 and 4 in a row so they will be looking for a win desperately. they are good at home and they have beaten us once before in a very close game. We are going to be competitive and we will have a chance to win this. Their youth and athleticism is their strength but they aren't a dominant team and sometimes they struggle to score. If we can hold their front line from D Howard type of game - we will have a chance.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Beno - back to starter position hopefully this will get him out of the slump
Kevin - more responsibilities should do him good
Ron - who knows maybe he will win us a ring:p
Brad - don't go into the kitchen
Mikki - god hel You

Cisco - much needed
Salmons - one more trade from starting again
QD - what ever You do - don't handle the ball
Hawes - has to play more
Williams - we have o find out what he can do

rest - mateen

Williams and Jones - good luck and thanks
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Blazers are 28-24 but 20-6 at home. They won't make the post season but they will get Oden to what they have and it is scary. Right now - we don't have to worry about Oden but we do have to worry about Joel "the god" Pryzbilla and La Marcus "superman" Aldirdge. That will be hard to handle for us. Roy will be easier to handle because we match up well there. Other guys are a threat as well. TDM will go to Joel because I just can't go against him - ever. LW-VC will go to Blake. Reef will get the RA&1 award. I expect a close and competitive game and if Kings give it all and play together - the winner isn't that important.

too bad that tomorrow never comes:p
...
"You couldn't have it if you did want it," the Queen said. "The rule is jam tomorrow and jam yesterday - but never jam today."
"It must come sometimes to jam today," Alice objected.
"No it can't," said the Queen. "It's jam every other day: today isn't any other day, you know."

I'm going to continue to disagree with you about All-Star Weekend. I love each and every event, you don't... whatever.

However, I felt compelled to correct you about your remarks about Wright:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lue - the ex laker - isn't better than a back up and we don't need that. Johnson - see Lue and Wright is united with SAR just like the good old days when the sucked together playing for the Hawks...
He never played with Abdur-Rahim in Atlanta. In fact, Wright was part of the trade that sent Abdur-Rahim to Atlanta...
