the rumor is, kg and hudson for odom, bryum, george, atkins, slava and picks....

pg-hudson/sasha
sg-kobe/?
sf-butler/walton
pf-kg/cook
c-mihm/grant/divac

with phil as their coach..... that would be unsettling... but kg being traded to any western conf. team would be unsettling... the only was it would be worse is if it were dallas.... without trading dirk..... who in the hell would want to guard that? dirk at sf and kg at pf? who could match up with that? 2 all-star 7 ft'ers and tons of extra offense to spare.... kobe and kg..... with all the scrubs that they would have left i wouldnt be all that bothered..... what is mihm gonna do? butler maybe but really though....

if this goes down, why didnt the kings send thomas, jackson, corliss, mobley and fillers for kg and wally that sounds better than what the laker have to offer.....

Well let's define "rumor" here -- picked up by the media at least ala that jack Haley stuff last trade deadline? Or just somebody on a messageboard with a bright idea ala Peja/Miller for KG.

its more along the lines of a, "someone knows someone who knows something about something" poster on another message board.... insider information, "i was right about the last trade" type situation....

or beauty salon gossip for guys type stuff.... cant give any details but its a "sure thing" according to the person telling the rumor....

yeah.... poor laker fans.... even without trades, the kings are still a playoff team....

Ain't gonna happen. Kevin McHale's middle name isn't Rob Babcock...

How does trading the best player in the world for crums make any logical sense whatsoever for the T-Wolves?

1st of all you wouldnt need hudson to pull of that trade off and 2nd of all if kg was going to LA it would have to involve kobe coming to Minny........

Seems you were coming close to not making them last year...;)
Do you think the Lakers are done making any moves this offseason?? Don't you think Phil Jackson will make any difference than a coach who left after 3 months and another one who didn't want to be there?? There's nowhere to go but "up".:)

Possible. There was a lot of talk during and immediately after the draft that the Bynum pick was made for someone else. It's not that bad a trade for the T-Wolves, all things considered, especially what Gargamel said. If the T-Wolves move KG they will definitely want a young big in return. Wonder how Kobe and KG would co-exist. . .

I have absolutely no desire to find out. Gotta be a better offer out there for the Wolves if they were going to do it.

Minny's in a tough spot, because they won't win anything of significance during KG's career because it's hard building a contender around such a big contract. On the flip, if they trade him, they won't get equal value because it's hard to come up with a trade that meets the salary matching requirements AND gives nothing but quality in return. In addition, they trade KG and the fans will hate it. Their situation is why it's better to win one title and sandwich it with 7 years of losing than to watch a team lose in the first round for 8 straight years.
KG's contract isn't the $28M monstrosity it used to be. He signed an extension "for cheap"... at $16M a year, which puts him right up there with the new generation of "max" contracts. Still a lot of $$, but if other teams can build around max contracts, then Minny could do it too.

KG,Showbe and Phil together:eek: Now that's something I never want to see but there's no way that's happening. If the pups can't get to the playoffs with him, they sure can't do it without him unless they get a superstar to take his place and even then who knows.

pipedream. no way in heck are the t-wolves getting rid of their most talented, still fairly young franchise player for another team's scraps.
take out the fairly young part and it sounds a bit familiar

that minnesota team with laker scraps sounds absolutely terrible...two teams with two superstars that can't make the playoffs indicates that they're scraps are horrendous. id rather have kobe and kg than the other 20something players left on those two teams, seeing as kobe and kg would have a better chance at the playoffs with some toddlers around them than the spare part twolves. volume of players can never ever make up for talent, and usually makes things worse because some good players will get lost in the shuffle and other will play more than they should. bad idea, will not happen.
