Don't Make Me Use The Bat
Prediction Poll #19.

Last season 4 separate Kings averaged over a steal a game (Cousins (1.5), Thornton (1.4), Reke (1.3) & Johnson (1.2)). In addition, given minutes Cisco has done it twice, Salmons four times and Hayes twice (oddly our two smallest/quickest players have not shown themselves to be great thieves -- IT averaged 0.8stl/gm last year and Brooks topped out at 0.8 in 09-10). Who will lead the team in steals this year?

In terms of proper steals from defending your man I'd go with Evans or Johnson, but I voted Thornton because he's the one that plays (gambles) the passing lanes the most.

I put Cousins for lulz. And then I realized he led the team in steals last season. Dude has such a wacky skill set for a behemoth.

Optimistically I'm hoping Evans steps it up and contributes more across the board, I think he's the only guy we have with 2spg potential.

I voted for Tyreke simply because he should lead the team in steals. The idea of Cuz leading the team scares me to death. Most of his silly fouls are from reaching in and trying to knock the ball away. I suspect that if Cuz were to lead the team in steals, he's also lead the team and league in fouls. My second choice is Thornton, because he was very effective in that area last season. However, most of his steals come from gambling, and when he doesn't get the steal, probably 70% of the time if not more, he ends up leaving his man a clear lane of penetration.

Tyreke has the ability, similar to Artest, to play his man straight up and with his long arms still poke the ball away.
