Lucky Number #13.

Cisco is the Kings reigning greybeard -- he's been with the team so long he has actually played on a winning Kings team, for a real coach, in the playoffs. He's also one heck of a nice guy and locker room captain. Unfortunately his oncourt performance has been in steep decline for years, and now at age 31 he is entering the final guaranteed year of one of the bigger remaining contracts on the Kings ($6.1mil, with $6.4mil Team Option for next season that is not likely to be picked up). What do you think his future is with the Kings?

Tough one. I went with playing out his contract and returning as a coach, but I don't have a good feel for the situation. I was tempted to say that he'll be used as trade bait, but I'm not sure the Kings are going to be looking to add larger long-term contracts at the deadline with the prospect of having to pay Tyreke and Cousins in the next two years. Besides, we probably won't be in the playoff hunt. So 'Cisco probably plays it out, and I said he'd come back as a coach for several reasons. He seems happy here, he seems to get along with the front office, and our front office appears to be exceptionally open to bringing back former Kings players as coaches (Shareef, BJax, missing anybody?) and 'Cisco seems to be the type who would fit as a coach. I don't think he's got a lot of value on the FA market at this point, so he'll probably be done playing once this contract is through.

I wouldn't mind Garcia coming back for a vet minimum deal, but with Outlaw/Salmons/Honeycutt all under contract for another year, plus hopefully JJ or another good SF, there really is no space for him.

Garcia doesn't have the quickness to defend guards anymore, so he's really just a backup SF depending on matchups.

If he shoots like he did last year, it may not matter anyway, and coaching might be his only choice.

he will be gone soon, whether it's this year or next. I can see him sticking with the Kings organization though ala Shareef and Bobby.
