As we all know, every game is crucial in the playoffs, but this one for us is arguably the most crucial in the series. Game 5 is at SA, where the Spurs are one of the best home teams in the league. Stealing one now would put less pressure on us to steal one in Game 7, assuming we can take Game 6 at ARCO. Winning on Tuesday would mean we've outplayed the Spurs for basically 4 games straight. Right now, we have the momentum going into Game 5 and also have the mental edge on them. Here's my keys for taking Game 5 and putting the Defending Champions on their heels:
- Create a brick wall for Parker to run into anytime he decides to run into the lane. No easy buckets, contest everything, and foul him hard.
- Take it AT Duncan, get him in foul trouble and take advantage. When Duncan goes out, we make crucial runs that keep us in the game. Shareef needs to be aggressive like he was in Game 2 and take it to Timmy.
- Miller needs to step up and be consistent like Game 4 and hit his outside shots to stretch the D. If his shot is off, Nazr will lay off him a bit and help to clog the lane/double on Bonzi/Artest. Miller hitting his shots will open up the offense and make things easier for our post players who have had great success.
- Don't let Manu go off and control his slashing, though I think Artest has that covered.
- Control the boards, when we control the rebounding, we put ourselves in a great position to win.
- Keep staying tight on their 3 point shooting, that's been the biggest key to our success in Game 3&4.
If we can continue to keep doing all of the above said things on top of playing with the intensity we have, we WILL win this series. Go Kings!
