I expect Kevin Martin to fire on all cylinders and lead this team to a gold medal.

Hopefully 4 years from now he can get some press to make the ACTUAL team...man, I cant even imagine what THAT team will look like...CP3, Melo, LeBron, Howard...oh wait, that's THIS year's team, too. Well, I think them, with the possible additions of Greg Oden, Rudy Gay, Kevin Martin, Kevin Durant, OJ Mayo, and maybe Derrick Rose(depending on their level of maturity, of course)...it should be a solid Team USA for the next few Olympic Games.

I would expect most of the current group to drop out -- that was kind fo the scheme, to have people commit to 3 or 4 year periods (I thought it was 3, but that makes little sense given that the Olympics are every 4 years). In any case, I don't see any of these guys ever becoming career long slaves to the NT the way many foreign players feel they have to be. So while this first group will get the ball rolling, I would suspect that it will fall to a largely new crew, to each new generation, to be the next group through. I would think Kevin would have a real good shot at being part of that next group after most of the young superstars currently anchoring it move on.

Sure, but that wasn't the agreement that the new system was going to work under (at least as announced), and few if any American superstars are going to commit summer after summer after summer. Might be able to get those guys back for the next Olympics, but I am not sure what that would mean for the whole system and idea that we were going to try to build semi-cohesive teams from this point out rather than slapdash nonsesne.
