Steve Kerr just wrote an article about the need for an athletic big guy in the "ever changing" NBA. He included Odom - which is a big mistake cause he's nothing, but the rest is uncomfortably familiar.

Hopefully he can attract the anger and mayhem now.

Steve Kerr is the same guy who predicted we would finish 10th in the West this year. His opinion is somewhere south or irrelevant since he obviously doesn't have much grasp of what makes us good.

Steve Kerr

Yeah his prediction about the Kings finishing 10th in the west looks pretty accurate, not! He was also dogging out the Mavs as much as he could, on last night's TNT telecast. This guy is a joke he's a total shil for the Spurs, ever since he played for them all he does is talk about how great they are. He makes about as much sense as La Sacto fan.

Twice pal. Since no one is moderating you - gotta say you're out of line.

Getting a big guy doesn't make sense? Now I know how Tom Cruise felt in Rain Man. Are you an excellent driver by any chance?

Better power foward?

You said you wanted an athletic power foward to get more rebounds , when we have one of the best rebounding power fowards in the league. So who's the Rain man? Im not your pal.

GREAT ARTICLE.

Wow, he's almost as biased a writer as he is a commentator. Malik Rose and Robert Horry are athletic, playmaking star power forwards? Give me a break. Throws any credibility out the window.

Never said that, non-pal. Said needed someone who could jump and finish inside. With Webber - not instead of. Peruse closer and you might be friendlier.

Look at the "athletic" power forwards that he listed...

Dirk - Athletic and great for his team
Duncan - Since when did this guy become athletic

Then he goes on and says... That's why guys like
MALIK ROSE - Wasn't this guy getting like... ZERO PT last season?
Horry - Umm... Yeah...
Kenyon Martin - O yeah... He's turned out REAL well...

are so valuable... Anyone else notice that he mentioned three Spurs? What a homer...

For the last time..

Look you say your a Kings fan and so am I, so we shouldn't be fighting over stupid stuff , but in your first post you said the Kings prob couldn't beat Phoenix in a seven game series. That's a little pessemistic isn't it? You say you've been watching this team a long time and I believe you, but you have to see their point of attack has always been(since they've been contenders) a big skilled frontline right? I would say to you, and I know that as a Kings fan you would agree, that Brad and Chris is the most offensively skilled 4/5 combo in the league ... passing, shooting offensive awareness etc. They are also when you compare them to the other "contenders" a pretty good rebounding tandem. They get .2 less rebounds a game than Tim and Rasho, They get .1 more rebounds a game than Ben and Sheed, They get 1.3 more rebs than Jermaine and Croshere and even though the T-wolves have Garnett who is a freak(he gets 15 a game) --they only get 1.5 more rebounds a game. If you've seen all the games (I'm assuming you have). I know you've seen Chris is more mobile/athletic this year than last, and seems to be (for now) getting smoother at making those inside moves and finishing them , like he did against Garnett. Brad can also shoot better than any center in the West ,except maybe Yao, but Brad deff has more range , and he also can put it on the floor and get a layup(sometimes) or draw a foul(more often) and get to the line. Believe me scoring is not a problem for these two or for the Kings as a whole who started out in the 20's in total offense (after the texas triangle), and have moved up to 4th already. This is a team that can score in the halfcourt, don't worry about that. Whether it's an elbow jumper or a jump hook, or layup,(not too many dunks) it will be there. The only real question is in the playoffs will Peja come through and be able to consistently make his shot like bobby and bibby have been able too? If I came off as a jerk I apologize but it's bad enough for the rest of league to underate our front line, than to have our own fans do it. Don't listen those King haters down there I think they are influencing you a little. If we keep it up , we got a shot. Peace --KP

I want to believe. I only want them to win. In my heart - this year - I feel they need a new stud. Nothing deeper than that.

Malik Rose= Spur, Steve loves him

Horry= Spur, Steve loves him

I'm sure there's a pattern somewhere... ;)

I thought Kerr was scum with ranking the Kings 10th.

Still, being fourth or fifth is small consolation. Kerr should have mentioned Howard from Orlando a total stud for the future and, of course, Okafor - another sure thing star down the road. Fortson is dominating the boards again these days purely with physicality.

Steve Kerr is remarkably poor at assessing talent and predicting the outcome of games and sesons. He has been making statements and predictions for about two years now, and I think he is further off the mark than even Charles Barkley. It's really odd.

It also doesn't matter one bit. He has become a silly wanker.

I actually think Steve Kerr is a pretty respectable NBA analyst/commentator, unlike many others, such as Greg Anthony, Tim Legler, Bill Walton, and Stephen A. Smith.

He underestimated the Kings... but I like when people do that.
