[Keeper League] Looking for advice...

I'm running a keeper league, and I'm trying to decide which guys I want to keep. My league has a hard cap, so I'm limited by player values in which guys I can keep. Basically, in order to comply with the cap, I'm down to having to choose between the following set:

Chris Bosh
Josh Smith
TJ Ford

or

Chris Bosh
Gerald Wallace
TJ Ford

Now, as most of you here know, I'm a big Wallace fan, and Gerald scored more points on a higher percentage, and had more steals in the same number of games played. On the other hand, Smith had more rebounds, and three times as many blocks.

The main reason why I would pick Smith over Wallace is if I really need those blocks, and if I happened to believe that Wallace only played as well as he did because he was in a contract season (which I don't). The main reason why I would pick Wallace over Smith, if I put my bias aside, is if I think that Wallace's season was an aberration WRT his blocks, and that he'll be back to putting up better numbers next year.

So, which one would you take?

What do you mean before or after he signs with a new team? What makes you so sure he's going to leave Charlotte?

I'll rephrase. Do you have to decide before Free Agents begin signing ... because IF Wallace signs with a new team, that could change his numbers outlook.

I think Smith is the safer choice because his situation probably won't change next year, especially if the Hawks lose their pick to Phoenix which seems likely.

So, barring an injury or trade, Smith's numbers should be the same if not better.

Because Wallace's future is a little unclear at the moment, that could be a gamble. But I think he could easily be a 20 and 9 guy in the right situation ... and get you some blocks too.

Personally, I would go with the safer choice, as well. Since GW's future is unsure (although I don't think the Bobcats would let him go), I would choose Smith. Besides, if it is shot blocking you want....again, I like Smith better. As much as I would like having GW on my team, if that is the choice, well....

Honestly? It's not really a risk, anyway. I'll have the second-overall pick in the draft, so it's not a question of whether or not I can keep them both, but whether or not I want to waste the #2 pick to get one of them back.

#2? You lucky guy. I love Gerald, but I think I'd give him up for the #2. I'd still keep Josh Smith.

Not that lucky. This is a keeper league; I only got the #2 pick because I had the second-worst record in the regular season.

I bet the house on youth, and youth let me down. I wasted high draft picks on Rudy Gay, Luther Head, Delonte West, Ricky Davis and Jameer Nelson. And, while all those guys ended having decent seasons, they got off to such a slow start, and my league is so competitive that, by the time they worked themselves into playing well, I was done.

Especially Luther Head and Rudy Gay; I bet the wad on those two.. And they played great after the ASB, but I was already mathematically eliminated by the ASB...

Plus, I took Krstic as my #1 center...

I'd go with Gerald. I had him on my team this year and he was very good to me, especially later in the year. He really gives you a lot.

Also, in my league, he can play SG/SF/PF (I don't know if Josh can).

Of course, with the 11th pick, it takes a lot of faith on your part to presume that he's still going to be there when it's your turn... Plus, we're not doing a snake draft like Yahoo: the first pick in the first round also has the first pick in the second round, and so on.
