Keep Jason Hart?

OK, I'm wondering if Jason continues to play well and contribute for the rest of the year, are some people's minds going to change about keeping him around and using him more? Or do you still want to dump him and possibly go through this again with the next backup PG, unless Francisco takes those minutes?

Much like House last year, he couldn't seem to fit in well for over half the season, but now is doing much better....
 
Jason Hart hasn't sucked for 4 games in a row, and his minutes during those games all came during the competitive portion. This is the most he's played since the Artest trade, and I am beginning to be convinced that the reason he'd made the team worse in the first half of the season was more indicitive of the team's overreliance on Bibby than Jason Hart's incompetence. Granted, the team didn't miss open midrange jumpers, Hart did, but he looks a lot more comfortable and his defense has been steady. And Bibby really needs to get some rest, as he's playing hurt and all. Hart may yet round into the roleplayer we thought he could be.
 
Irrelevant. Keep him as a main backup? Absolutley not. Not an impact player, and you can get equal or better on the FA market every year. Have him sitting on the roster as a 12th man/emergency PG type? OK. No reason to try to make it happen. But if it does, fine.

Every win or good performance doesn't suddenly make guys starters, studs, or keepers. They are still what they are, and have been.
 
It's only a matter of time before Jason decides to shoot about 3 for the century, and people will remember what got him reduced to the back of the bench.

This little "honeymoon" will not last long...This is Jason Hart we are talking about, not an actuall NBA-level talent.
 
His play now reminds me of what he did in preseason, when he looked decent. I doubt it'll last though, we'll be lucky if we get it a few more games.
 
i didnt see the game so i dont know what to say but his stats dont look all that great....

but im just glad that ron wasnt handling the ball the entire game....

He played quite well. Its just the question of the distinction between an impact backup PG type like a Jackson, Watson, Fisher, Daniels, Boynkins etc., and just annother guy. Put another way, how would you feel about our chances if Bibby went down tommorow for the season?

But you can say the same about Brad or Ron, too....

I'm not saying he's the future of the team, but if he keeps playing well, why not keep him, unless something obviously better is available for us without giving up too much in the process. I know I would have loved to kept House (for example), and who knows why that didn't happen, but getting a new backup PG every year kinda sucks.
 
first off you need to consider that this was a game against the blazers.

I'm not really sure about the other games because i didnt really look at the stats.. but this was a game against the blazers, if he does something against a big team thats when i'll give you an answer about keeping him or not.

Not really. Reef moves in as a starter without Brad, and while he's clearly not a C, you're talking about a guy in the same general talent range. If Kevin is healthy Kevin/Bonzi backed up by Cisco is a lot closer to Ron than Hart is to Bibby. If Mike went down, not even really sure Hart would get more minutes than Cisco as a backup PG. He's just very modestly talented. A patch at best. Its an area you can clearly upgrade, so why not try?
 
Hart puts in effort.. but that's all he's got, he just simply doesn't have much talent. He's below average in everything except maybe his effort on defense. The definition of "playing well" for Hart is just him simply not hurting the team. The guy makes 2 shots in a row he's considered on fire, hah.

So, out with Hart (as actual back-up PG), in with one of Duhon/Bell/Claxton (FA)/Dooling :).

Not a definite Hart is gone, but you have to think they want to address the back-up PG spot. Unless Hart really gets going well, and in the playoffs.

i would love to have them sont think Phoenix or Hornets will let us......:(
 
Bell is on the Bucks. Third-string PG getting more minutes and playing well since coming back from surgery in January, with Mo Williams being out for awhile (came back recently).

That's the point - neither did House until the last part of the season and then he was fine. Hart has played fairly well the past few games. I'm not necessarily on one side or the other on this issue, but was wondering if we want to go through this again next year. Just when the new backup PG starts playing well and really learns what's going on in the system it is getting into the end of the season and we jettison them and start from scratch the next year (see: House, and now clamorings around here to do the same with Hart). I'm not sure if that is smart unless there is a major upgrade.

And everyone thought Hart would be a good backup when we got him, and look where it got us until the past few games, when he's played better....
 
I believe Hart has another year on his contract. Thus, the Kings should keep him if they are going use most their money on signing a big man.

....need proof? refer to tonights game where he almost single handedly brought the warriors back into it
 
Yes, House played better toward the end of the season, but unlike Hart he came in with the season already part over. Hart has had training camp and all season and is no where near as good as House was. Bibby is broken down right now, because we really don't have a good enough back up PG.
 
I believe he has a player's option, so it's up to him on whether or not he wants to stay...
