JWill vs Big Cuz

Bench
Allot turned around for us back when we drafted JWill. The media attention, the team personality, the exciting play... How would you guys compare the spark we had when we got JWill to the possibilities we may see with DeMarcus? This could be the start to an exciting team on and off the court. Could Big Cuz bring potentially even more media shine do you think?

You gotta admit, Cuz has got a magnetic personality and is quite an entertaining guy. From what I read, it's what made him so popular at Kentucky... on top of his play. Of course his playing has got to be there, but I think what he'll bring us will go even bigger than the JWill excitement.... let's hope he's more in control.

Keep in mind that the same offseason we got J-Will, we also got a guy named Webber, and a guy named Divac, and a guy named Stojakovic. Not to mention a guy named Pollard and a guy named Barry. We made a dramatic step in talent, and it may be a bit mistaken to attribute all (or even a majority) of the media attention to J-Will. Yes, he was flashy, but we also got a lot better. I mean, we've retired the numbers of two of the guys we got that offseason, and neither was J-Will.

Now, if you want to look at the current situation, we believe we've made big steps in talent, though over a few years rather than one offseason. Greene and Thompson, Evans and Casspi, Landry, Dalembert, and now Cousins and Whiteside...we have a chance to improve a lot next year - .500 is not a pipe dream anymore. May require some things to go right, but not a pipe dream. And the media attention and the excitement should well come with it, and while Cousins will be a part of it and likely one of our "faces", in the end I don't think it will be his personality that draws attention. It will be the wins.

I miss those days...
