I have to point this out. Notice how Brad Miller is a lot more effective in the game playing besides a defensive big?
I noticed that when he was playing in Indiana.

Good one!Forget drafting a big in the 1st round. We got a 1st round level big man right here!!!![]()
Brad and Justin played a LOT of consecutive minutes tonight. They are going to have to be tired against Duncan and Co. tomorrow.
We've outrebounded the opponent in almost every single game Justin has played major minutes in.
I have to point this out. Notice how Brad Miller is a lot more effective in the game playing besides a defensive big? I mean it was the grizzlies, but even so. I am very very happy to see Justin do this and once he adds some bulk he can really become a legit player. I really wouldn't mind us starting him for the remainder of the games and see how he does against Tim and the trigger-happy warriors. I think he had some nerves his first few games, but he is beginning to settle and look real, real solid. Already he has put up some better games that Cedric Simmons and Hilton Armstrong, some guys people were talking about last year who haven't done anything for the hornets.Brad is more effective when he plays beside a defensive guy on a faster team.
not really i think justin wont really be that tired. i mean 31 min ain too much
I see a bright future for Williams, once he puts on some more muscle and learns some post up moves and hook shots, the guy is really going to be good.
Fortunately for Justin, we jack up so many ill-advised jumpers and 3s that he shouldn't have any problem getting 10-20 points and a bunch of offensive boards every game just by playing garbage man.
A hook would be nice, but I can happily subsist on dunks.
I hope for the remaining games that we play:
Price/Salmons
KMart/Douby
Cisco/Artest/Salmons
Williams/SAR
Miller/SAR
I know with the vets this is hard to impossible to do, but we can still start our usual Bibby/Artest/Miller and then just play the kids big over 25+ minutes a game. Williams, Price, and Cisco are showing they can play very good when given some good minutes, not 1 minute here and there. We need to play these guys and see what we have going forward. We might not be too far into the rebuild as we though after all.
Exactly, scoring is not his strength, but on our team I can see him averaging around 12-15 pts & 9-13 rebounds
justin will get more minutes next year. no other coach in this league will give thomas more minutes than williams. if kenny thomas is starting for this team next season we will be right back in the same position. unless we sign a powerhouse center.
My best case scenario with Williams is a spot starter and a 6th/7th man off the bench (depending on if the big is in foul trouble or if we bring a guard off the bench to rest another guard).
If he gets minutes over the season I can see him being a Scot Pollard type player. Hustle baskets, and good rebounding, also giving us an inside presence.
If next season Williams averages 20 or so minutes a game look for JWill2 to average about;
8.2ppg - 7.5rpg - 1.3bpg and an assist or assist and a half per game. You heard it here first! The master of predictions I am!![]()
These stats are great off the bench. JWill is a hustle player, and it's instant energy off the bench. I think next year we will utilize Willaims, and Price more off the bench. They infect others with the energy, and they make players around them better.
Oh one last thing... I can see us starting a guy like Williams at PF in the future if we got Oden in the draft, or a true center that can do the things Miller cant (inside play). If Williams is to remain a undersized backup center and never develop PF type skills than the minutes will always be backup type minutes.
Yeah, once he adds those minor details.![]()
Justin is never going to be an offensive player. This is what a defensive 4/5 roleplayer type looks like folks. Know we haven't seen one in these parts in a long time, but this is what they are. Never will score, shoot, or look pretty and "skilled", but that's not their purpose or value.
