Never thoght I'd ever hear people waxing nostalgic about our bad ole days pansy baby-blue wuss uniforms. ;)

Ah, NBA marketing at its best -- sell a few more jerseys I guess.

Girls. :p

Unless you are born with male genitalia you cannot possibly understand how emasculating wearing that color is. :)

Bring back the black!! :D

so you are complaining about baby blue? for real?

what do you think about Purple cuz id think that would be more so then a lighter shade of blue

it may be emasculating but i agree with my girls when i say "it looks good on them," not everyone can pull off baby blue...we've gotta team full of guys who can wear it pretty well...if i say so myself :D

I like the "powder blue" unis because it reminds of the good ol' days when I got to go to 3-4 games a year, not a game every 3-4 years. At the time I think my male genitalia celebrated the switch to royal blue, though.

Besides, the old uniforms didn't look like these throwbacks. These are shiny, the old ones were not shiny at all, just powder blue.

i believe the "shiny" is what you call satin

i use to be a fashion major one day a long time ago....i believe that is satin...which is not at all breathable

Bricks right Powder Blue was a whimpy a coler as they could find with out putting the guys out there in pink. Yep reto jersy, just another marketing tool.

Never been a big fan of the retro night thang.

However, the Golden State throwbacks that they wore last year (the ones with the trolley cars) I absolutely loved. Not sure why, exactly, they're kind of ugly. And, I liked a couple of seasons ago when the Kings broke out the old Royals unis.

Other than those two exceptions, I say nertz to the whole thing.

And, for the record, even I feel emasculated in baby blue. Without the aid of male genetalia.

They did darken it a bit(ala Tarheels) and added that shine... Hey I'm all man baby, but I gotta admit I like em too. I especially like the way we play in them... er.. yeah thats why I like them...

More emasculating than a 40 chik flik marathon?;)

I gotta say I like the "baby blues" and they obviously play well in them. But I liked our black unis the best. Why did we change those again?

This is the same thing I have been thinking. Why are these considered throwback jerseys? The Kings never wore these unis in their history.

I did like that they tried to keep them fairly close to the originals by putting the name UNDER the number. I always thought that was a unique feature on the old uniforms.

As far as emasculating uniforms go, why did the new road unis adopt the same lettering for "Sacramento" as the Monarchs?

Personally, I think the Kings have changed their look way too much over the last decade or so. Remember the split color purple & black jerseys with the checkerboard pattern on the sides? Ugly.

The problem with the constant modifications is that by trying to stay hip or edgy, each re-design instantly dates itself so that another one is needed far too soon. Maybe its just me, but most of my favorite uniforms are the ones that stand the test of time with only minor changes. The Niners, the Bulls, and even though I hate them, the Yankees. Contrast that with stuff like the Nuggets unis from the early 80's, the last Rockets incarnation, or the original Tampa Bay Buccaneer's uniforms. I'm sure they all were considered trendy at the time.

While there are problems with the constant modifications, I think we all know why they do them and it has NOTHING to do with how the team actually looks.

For the record, the only time I liked the powder blues was when Reggie Theus was on the court in his.

;)
