Just in case this was Rick's last game, I want to say thanks for the WONDERFUL moments over the past seasons. Those of us who have been around for a long time remember when the playoffs were not even a hope for us. Thanks for getting us there each seasonyou have been here. Thanks for the 50+ win seasons. Thanks for being great with guys nobody else wanted or were scared to get. THANKS FOR BEING OUR COACH!

I hope you come back!

How about we do this WHEN IT HAPPENS.

Lets not say good bye IN CASE of something that might not happen. So lets just wait and see......

Cause we could say this about Bonzi, Bibb, Reef, etc.

I agree, chelle, with your thoughts AND your final sentence.

I hope he comes back, too.

:D

I believe it's his last game and he did the best he could and really stuck to what he believed in, even if it was wrong for the moment.

Good luck to him in the future.

The ESPN interview before the Half courtside with the maloofs wasn't excatly the perfect endorsement for Rick.

When asked about Bonzi he said YES we hope to resign him

When asked about Rick he said we will evaluate that after the season.

I really don't understand why the hell not! People were saying Rick was outcoaching Pop after games 3 and 4. In the end, the Kings just lost to a better team. This Kings team has shown a much better commitment to defense. Give them some rebounders and they'd be serious contenders.

What other coach who be available or a upgrade at this point?

Its not about that for the Maloofs -- they are restless, have been so for some tiem. Havce apparently thought they could, or been looking to find an upgrade for a yfew years now. I;ve said for a while it was hard to see them reversing course and suddenly getting confident in Rick again this season if all the games he has won here weren't already enough. Wiht his contract up, its the perfect opportunity for them to go elsewhere. But they may well find the grass is not greener, and depending on who they go for, could seriously screw us up.

I know Adelman is a popular coach and a successful one. My biggest problem is that over his time here with the Kings, there have been too many instances where the team doesn't show up the way they need to for big games. Is that the coaches fault alone? Of course not, but how often do you see that with the other great coaches in the league.

Now, I'm not saying there is a huge list of other coaches waiting to get snatched up, but I do think a change might be neccessary to complete this team's transition from the old regime.

Now doesn't seem like the time. Don't know what the future holds.

I do think Rick Adelman has never been given enough credit, and appreciate all he's done. I wouldn't mind seeing him back one bit.

I honestly hope he comes back. He has been great for the Kings, and he has been great for the players. It's all going to be the Maloofs. But honestly, I .hope they get rid of the rest of the soft players (i.e Brad Miller) before they get rid of Adelman. I like him as a coach. Let's go Kings

I sure hope not.. I do not see him getting along with Artest at all. What is also a worry to me is everyone believes that Adelman and Petrie are a team. It would suck if we lost Petrie too. :(

That one scares me too -- it would very much be a Vegassy all style no substance type of move.

I am clinging to the Maloofs statements about wanting to improve defensively and pursuit of Artest. But problem then is that I still see their shallow ill-considered pursuit of PJ and think they will be looking for a name rather than a coach. And it terrifies me they will go after Larry Brown, who by all rights should be fired here in NY and will cause Artest and ppossibly Bonzi to implode inside of two months with his slimey backstabbing.

Thank you Rick Adelman. I hope you come back. You are a classy coach and just because you're not a trashy guy like Phil Jackson does not mean you shouldn't be considered a big name. You are one of the best coaches in the game and I hope you're back in Sac next year.

Adelman is a players coach, and with Bonzi and Artest you might need that. If they get a stubborn coach things can blowup pretty fast given the personalities we have. I say resign him...who else is out there?

Isn't it bas enough that we lost ?

why do we need to use such bad words as "Nelly." They sould wash Your mouth with soap if You use it

Rick - congrats and thanks. I hope to see you back on the sideline here next year. Take some time and figure out what YOU want to do. I hope it leads you back here.

I also hope the opportunity to be back here presents itself.

Thanks Rick. I won't say goodbye yet though. Hopefully nothing rash and disrespectful is done, and hopefully he wants to come back.

This thread is a bit premature - let's just wait and see.

But ultimately, I think we should bring back Bill Russell.

What irritates me about this is that Rick has coached this team to successful seasons for 8 years. He has had personnel changes the past 2 years as well. If anyone deserves a contract it's him. This team went from a bottom feeder to giving the defending champs fits. If he doesn't come back, I'll be upset. There isn't a better free-agent coach on the market in my opinion. Letting Rick go will just be stupid.

Yep, I believe that would happen with either Brown or Nelly. :(

Dear Joe and Gavin,

Rick Adelman did a great job helping to create a team out of all those parts you assembled (with Geoff). Now, you took a chance on Ron Artest, and I had my doubts. I should not have worried, however, because you had the best player's coach on the planet with Rick Adelman. Now, you want Ron and Bonzi (as do we) then you had better offer Rick a commanding contract and beg and mow his lawns or do whatever it takes to get Rick back here. Otherwise, Ron and Bonzi could blow up in your faces and ours.

I think Rick has shown if you give him the right tools he can get the job done. A few years ago we mightve won it all if not for injuries. This year with Bonzi and Artest we had the champs on the ropes. Minus a sub-par performance from Miller and KT and we might've gotten it done too.

We need a few more solid players, not a new coach.

That's exactly what I think. Time and time again Rick has done a great job when given the right tools and I hope that he gets resigned along with Bonzi. If those two don't deserve to get resigned than nobody does.
