i'd say in the top 10, definitely, possibly top five when you consider his production so far.
i dont know... what team would take him in the top 10?
clippers? no...
grizzlies? no, though they wouldnt take thabeet a 2nd time, so evans would go there
thunder? no
kings? no, evans would be gone, we'd get rubio. or thabeet, ewww. i like evans more now.
twolves? no, though i doubt that they would take rubio...
twolves?no, maybe thabeet, no way grizz take him again...
warriors? no, jenning or rubio would be taken here if they had a 2nd chance...
knicks? no, again... jennings, rubio or curry would be taken here...
bucks? no
but 11-15 looks more like it.... nets, bobcats, pacers, suns and pistons all took a sg/sf and casspi has been better than all of those players... clark, terrence williams, hansbrough, henderson and daye? not in that order, i just couldnt remember all of their names...
bulls at 16? no.... they have salmons and deng, though casspi would play well there...
17-21 all took pgs.... so thats probably a no...
portland at 22? probably.... claver isnt even playing... so why not?
kings at 23... wait. nevermind...![]()
I agree and disagree. I think you have to go with BPA, but since we won't know who that is for several years, I think some teams still take guys like Curry or Derozan ahead of him on potential alone. When it all shakes out, he'll probably be in the top 10 of this draft, if not higher, and that's probably where he would end up. I think the Knicks might. He's a bit duplicative of Gallinari, but the Jewish connection is there, and he'd get free reign to score score score right away in D'Antoni's offense.
that may be true but if they did the draft over what team in the top 10 would take casspi? none... the grizzlies would take evans 2nd, harden 3rd, we would either take rubio or thabeet at 4 and the rest will try to take curry and jennings... the top 10 wouldnt change in players just the order that they were picked. if anything collison and lawson might jump up.... but not by much.... maybe more trades would be made....

There is no way on gods earth that Petrie would have taken either Rubio or Thabeet. Flynn would have been the obvious choice, and rumors were that thats who we would have taken if for some reason Evans was taken in the top three. Thabeet is the opposite of everything that Petrie looks for in a draft pick. In hindsight the Knicks at number 8 would probably take Casspi over Hill, who is hardly playing. Not to mention that Casspi would fit right into their style of play. If not them then the Raptors would have taken him at number 9 instead of Rozen, who is playing well, but not nearly as well as Casspi.
This thread makes me feel even better about getting Evans at 4. Maybe the ping pong balls did fall our way.![]()
Even if he was assured Rubio would be playing this year? I would definitely take him over Flynn, in a heart beat.
