Josh McRoberts

What about drafting Josh McRoberts from duke? he is 6'10" and some compare him to weber?? I have seen a couple of games hes pretty athletic nice finisher. i can see us sliding in the draft alittle near where he will be.

Whoever is comparing him to Webber must be on crack. The dude is not that good, and will not be a difference maker in the NBA. Webbber was dominant in college from the minute he stepped on the court. McRoberts hasn't even been dominant at the college level.

I read the Webber comparisons and stuff about how McRoberts is a pretty athletic big man before I ever saw him play. Then I saw him play and was really disappointed. McRoberts is about as quick up and down the court as Webber was right before his knee went *boom* and he can elevate about as well as the post-microfracture Webber.

If McRoberts ever lives up to potential, he'll be fine. He won't be Webber.

he's in the same mold as webber, just because he's compared to him doesn't mean they're saying he'll be as good. he can finish, shoot mid range, and pass very well for a big man. those are some of webber's defining traits. chances are he won't be as good as webber, not as athletic and not as good of a rebounder.

i think mcroberts came in second place in the all-american slam dunk contest to gerald green, so he's a good dunker just maybe he doesn't show it in a game. the problem with mcroberts definitely isn't his talent, it's that he's just way too passive. he should be one of the very best players in the country.

His stock has been slipping, might make it into the 10-15 range given the talent of this draft.

The Webb comparisons BTW were NEVER about the athleticism. In fact the comparisons were normally to a "less athletic Webber". It was to his great passing, inside outside game, court smarts etc. 5 tool player. Just maybe not athletic enough to be a huge factor in the NBA.

From what I've seen McRoberts is actually pretty athletic. Maybe not super athletic like a Dwight Howard or even David Lee but above average.

nbadraft.net's rankings suck, i wouldn't put that much stock into them. they're way off every year even days before the draft. draftexpress is much better in terms of prospect rankings.

Josh Mcroberts????

I can't believe some of the stuff I am reading here. McRoberts is freaking TERRIBLE. I wouldn't even take him in the 2nd round. Just awful. Have you actually seen the guy play? He sees the court pretty well. But he is slow. He has an awful post up game. He can't finish. He is the homeless man's Tyler Hansbrough. If Tyler played for Duke, Duke would be a Top 5 team. Instead, they are not ranked and have lost 5 of 6. Oh my god. I am getting angry even thinking of the Kings drafting McRoberts. Please. Stop reading retarded websites and watch the guy play. If you watch him and think he has a future in the NBA, I have a real nice bridge I could sell you.

At his best he does resemble Webber, but not as explosive. That will be what holds him back because that is difference between being an average player and the 20/10/5 Webber we all know and loved.

He has shown flashes but he just isn't dominant enough for anyone to think he's a potential franchise guy. I do wonder if the system and coach is holding him back, or if he just isn't that good. I think he should've gone somewhere else- NC Tarheels, maybe- instead of Duke. They don't have much of a tradition for turning out unorthodox players.

McRoberts is taller, passes better, and is way more athletic than Hansbrough. They're nothing alike. McRoberts is kinda slow but he can jump some. It's not like you can't teach a post game.

Well, not sure about that given Ferry and Laettner, but the unorthodox bigs they have turned out certinaly haven't been big impact guys in the NBA.
