Jimmy "The Sheep": Donaghy was just one of 13

You know, just out of curiosity I went back and checked out the recap and boxscore of the Dec 13 2006 Philly/Boston game that was referenced there. And all I have to say is what?

1) how could Philly be favored in that game? They were on an 8 game losing streak and dealing with the A.I. meltdown. Predicting a Boston blowout didn't exactly taken an insider.

2) Donaghy was on the refereeing crew of course, but if he was trying to fix it its invisible in the stats -- both teams shot the same number of FTs, Boston had 25 fouls, Philly 24. Only 1 Philly player was in any kind pf foul toruble -- Igoudala with 5. But he still played 36 minutes.

BTW here is the source for that first claim (of 13 refs):

Its third hand (a reporter who has a source, who says he knows another guy (Battista) who has shown him phone records and who claims he had 13 refs on the take). That's a long way out there and I find it curious the FBI would have overlooked htis little detail. But obviously it would be a devastating claim if it could be proven.

Nice detective work. You have a very good point, but I'm wondering how those fouls were handed out. Like if there was a lop-sided amount towards one team in the final few minutes or something?
