Thornton is injured?
uh oh. I guess we can expect a huge game from Jrue Holiday then.
Jimmer spends far too much time moving up to the three-point line, especially at the elbow, then turning his back to the basket to avoid losing the dribble. He doesn't have the handle to face the basket, he's not hitting shots right now, and those two things make me question why we play him so much.
Whether it's confidence or whether he needs to build his skills up, I'm not sure that we shouldn't consider a D-League stint for him once we're not so injured. Maybe he needs a few weeks worth of development where he's not so overmatched.
I agree. And he is not 6' 2" as has been advertised. He looks more like under 6 feet.
Isaiah Thomas is the same thing. Too damn short and skinny, too slow to cover his man, and just gets easily pushed by the big men on the court. The funny thing is every one is bigger than him, so everyone can just push him out of their way. So who is he supposed to be guarding or matching against?
I know it is cute to see these little players playing, but they are most oftentimes a big liability. They are not helping the team and they should be sent to the D-League until they are ready. What have they done anyways (other than bring the ball halfcourt which anyone of the other guards can do) to merit these long minutes of playing time?
Keith Smart. I hope you are that smart to see that.
Hmm. Well... if Jimmer does well and more importantly the team does well with better ball movement, this is the kind of thing that ends up turning a former starter into a "key 6th man off the bench"
Nonsense, nonsense, nonsense. Pure, utter nonsense. Thornton is a bonafide starter in this league. Just because the team is a mess doesn't mean Thornton should be a 6th man. Even if jimmer played well tonight no way would it have pushed Thornton to the bench.

Name me one team Thornton would actually start on besides the Kings. Not only is he not a star, he's not even a great player.
He scores a lot because he shoots a lot. Meanwhile his assist numbers and ability (or willingness) to run an offense and distribute the ball are ABYSMAL. He is not a rookie. He has no excuse. He's just not good.
He's a rookie. He played for an awful coach who got fired - so now he's playing for a new coach. He plays for one of the current WORST teams in the league that has BEEN one of the worst teams in the league for some time. He has selfish teammates who don't (and have not been coached to) run an actual offense. He had no opportunity to have a normal workout/practice routine with the team due to the lockout.
It amazes me that you all focus so much on his flaws when he has actually been playing decently. Yet meanwhile you ignore the blatant issues with our "veterans"... stop using the rookie as a scapegoat for why this team has been one of the suckiest teams to suck lately.
And it shows. I just don't think it would hurt for him to be sent down and spend a few weeks playing against competitions intermediate between college and the pros.
This thread is about Jimmer. Not the veterans.
And, frankly, I don't see anybody saying that Jimmer is solely responsible for how the team is playing or scapegoating him. I see people concerned about his development. It's like you think we want him to fail or something. We don't. We want him to play like we think he can. That means getting his confidence back into his shot and fixing his handles.
I'm not sure they're rushing him because they respect his shot at this point. Rather, I think they're rushing him because every single time he sees someone come towards him he panics and does something less than intelligent.I think it's an issue of confidence. From what I can see, the opposing D really focuses on him every game so he can't get a shot off(shows how much they respect his shot). The few times he gets open, I think he gets excited and rushes it. He will find a way to work around it. One of these games, he will break out and get his confidence back.
This response from Jimmer after the game sums up why all the kings players are struggling so bad:
"it's all a learning process we don't know 100% now obviously were everybody is going to be, so it's definitely tough, it's definitely a transition, but every game well keep getting more used to it and hopefully start winning some games."
They have no clue where anyone is going on the offensive end. There is no rhythm for them to get into. Every time down the floor something different happens and there is no consistency. No wonder everyone on the team has an awful shooting percentage. They don't have consistent places they are used to getting shots from. No one knows when to shoot, when to pass, or when to drive. Until this team gets an offense that is legit, they will all continue to struggle...period!
This has to be frustrating for the players. This is taking good players and making them look really bad. It is unfortunate.
