Jazz @ Kings Game Thread

This has to be the worst defeat I have seen the Kings endure in a long long time.

For the first time this season I am really not liking Eric Musselman right now. No Garcia, no Salmons. They were playing very very well and they have since played no minutes.

why did muss leave artest in the game? he killed our offense.... i need to start a trade artest thread.... this is some bs.... is salmons hurt? or garcia? garcia was playing fine...

Of course

And hey Kmart why don't you take the shot instead of passing it almost every time..No and thats why I am not on the bandwagon, he is still not aggressive enough.

Preface: that is not the reason we lost, but I am still upset we lost this one being 21 up. No way we make the playoffs, we suck.

Artest is CRAP!!!!!!!!!

What is he thinking? Quit going one on one at the end of the 4th. This is not the first game that this has happened in. Almost every game it is the same thing. We are in the game (or even have the lead) and about 5:00 left in the fourth quarter and Artest pulls this crap. Pass the freaking ball. Team ball is how you got the lead so why change it.

Sorry.... I just had to vent.

Why is it so hard for us to win without Bibby?
I know he is good, but we have other good players on this team. I just don't get why we fall apart without him.

Well, Bibby is the brain compared to Ron who is anti brain. You kill the brain - You kill the body

For some reason, Muss seems to have the "give Ron the ball, and let him run around for the entire shot clock" or "give Reef the ball, and let him travel" Those seem to be his plays when the Kings need buckets... And both of those plays SUCK

MY god, Ronnie was on fire, so was martine, and Artest just totally ignores them and tries to drive to the hole

We're going to be VERY lucky to have a .500 record at the end of the regular season...and I've said that all along...barring a Ron Artest type of trade for a shot of adrenaline. This team is mediocre, at best...even WITH Bibby. Unless Brad comes back and has an abberation defensively, .500 should be the only goal, because the playoffs wont be had with that type of record.

Kings will be just fine when Bibby gets healty, b/c the guy is still putting up 18 points a game with a freakin wrist injury, and we will be just fine when Brad comes back. Hey lets just be happy that all the injuries are happening so early into the season b/c we have plenty of time(72 more games) to get this thing going in the right direction.

We can win any game as long as we shoot 50%. But if we get someone who can stop all the paint points we could win shooting 40%

We can win any game where our coach and Ron Artest realize that he is hurt and can't do everything on his own. We were in this game until a hurt Ron tired to take over the game and do everything on his own and he killed the flow of the game.

Is it just me....

Or were Kevin Martin and Price the ones that kept us in the game during the 3rd quarter. Then all of a sudden Ron Artest tries to take over a game for the umph time and guess what? We lost. I had a horrible feeling that we were going to lose once he tried to take over. For all of his great defensive capabilities he is not and never will be a Kobe Bryant. Why did mussleman not run some picks for Martin or Price. I would have rather seen one of them try to take over than Artest.
Also, what happenend to our defense? I didn't figure that we were going to hold them to 37 points again in the second half, but to give up so many east shots. Even Artest's man got easy buckets. It seems that Rahim and Thomas can't stop anyone inside that's a decent player. Watching that game unravel last night so dissapointed me because it reminded me of the old kings not being able to win a game win we were up +20 points.

We did NOT lose this game because of Ron Artest...Sure him trying to take the game over helped the Jazz make their comeback, but this game falls directly on the back of SAR.

Not only was he completly owned in every possible way by whoever he was guarding, including taking a nap when Memo hit his go-ahead three, but he was just as Ron Artest-like offensivly, trying to fight through double teams, and either throwing up junk that was nowhere close, or just turn it over...Especially in the third quarter when Ronnie and Kevin were playing so good, he seemed to just drain the team of all momentum with continual TO's and misses inside.

You know it's a bad game when you are screaming at Muss to put in Mo F'n Taylor, who at least put some sort of a defensive body on Carlos Boozer, and IMO actually played him rather nicley.

But that was just crushing all around....

Ouch...

Martin and Price really carried the offense in the 3rd, but it was strictly improvisational. In the 4th the Jazz really got aggressive and physical on defense and the Kings tensed up. They started running more set plays all of a sudden and Price got real passive. He needs to work on his halfcourt execution because so far I've only seen him be able to score in transition and "broken play" situations. The other thing I noticed was that Martin looked like he actually didn't want the ball 5 or 6 times. Napear and Reynolds kept saying they needed to get him shots, but he got the ball and barely even did anything with it. Ron swung it to him a few times and he threw it right back without taking a dribble. In fact, I don't think he took more than one dribble on any of his touches in the 4th. He kept deferring to Shareef and Ron. He needs to be more aggressive than that, especially if Bibby isn't in the game.

Supposedly this guy has a whole gang of set plays, way more than Adelman had. So far I haven't seen it. He either calls a horrible play like the two mentioned above, or he just lets the guys run around for a quarter or two.
