I don't really disagree with anything he said but it's not really his place to make those comments. The fact of the matter is he's cashing checks from the Sacramento Kings right now. If he doesn't want to play here then he should make that known to management directly, not through the media.

I disagree with what he said......Cuz has a shaky attitude? No, he wants to win and win badly. Does his emotions get the better of him sometimes? Yes.....big difference. And as far as Rudy not being a proven winner, he was with Memphis and they seemed to be ok with him. Rudy with Toronto was disastrous but I'd hardly call him an unproven winner because of half a season.

But your correct in that its not his place to make those comments, especially when he probably has very little insight into what is going on.

And if he's so set on returning to Dallas, why doesn't he put his money where his mouth is and agree to a very team-friendly buyout? The Kings don't owe him any favors, although I'd be curious to know who his agent is...

Players don't get more money in a buyout unless the new contract is more than the old (unlikely). The new team pays the salary to the old team up to the buyout amount.

I know the new salary comes off the old teams cap for amnestied players but didn't think that was true for straight buyout. For example, did Jimmer's Chicago salary come off our cap number last year? Is that really true? If so I stand corrected.

Well there's the rub. As an ending contract he holds some value and as teams give up on the season and start to position themselves for free agency it will increase, but we are stuck with him for a while. On the other hand IF he can still play his trade value will be much higher AND we can peddle him to wider number of teams earlier. So the team will need to evaluate him and if he looks good play hi so other teams can see what he has. The flip side is if the tests reveal a fork in his back you have to bury him until you can trade him even if HE thinks he can still contribute.

I can't believe that any team would trade for Jason Terry the Player. Would somebody sign him if the Kings bought him out? Yeah, some team would. At that point he's a veteran with championship experience who is being paid primarily by the Kings so he's willing to play for cheap. But I have a hard time imagining a GM in the league actively trying to acquiring Terry from the Kings for what he can do on the court.

No, if he's traded I think it will solely be as Jason Terry the Expiring Contract.

Until then if he doesn't want to play for Sacramento I say keep him away from the building. Let him continue to "rehab" until either next offseason or when a trade is made.

I was afraid it would be someone like that. While the players seemed to lose out in the new CBA, their agents seem to be more powerful than ever (see Zach Lowe's speculation that Rockets turned down Parsons' option for the minimum because he has Howard's agent, that the Cavs may have to overpay Tristan Thompson because he has LeBron's agent, and that the Wizard's overpayed Webster because he has Wall's agent). If the Kings want to have any hope of signing a Tellem client (a list that includes a number of good defensive bigs that are free agents in 2015), they may have to do right by Terry.

I don't think Terry was signed to play for us. If he doesn't want to play for us as seems to be the case, I don't want him to play for us. Status quo. He will be gone sooner or later. In the meantime he can say anything he wants in Dallas and I don't care. Ha has been a great 6th man player in this league for a long time.

Buyout still counts against the team cap, but the player doesn't get any extra money if he gets picked up.

Uh Cuz does have a shaky attitude (it's gotten a little better) and MEM was much better when Gay was out and TOR was much better when Gay got traded....that being said he should keep his mouth shut
