Yes.Any questions?
Where is everyone who thought Tyreke couldn't play point and JT was strictly a huste/garbage player? Time to look up some posts and hold people accountable.

Sarcasm...Yeah, that's not gonna fly. Let's just celebrate tonight's game and worry about the pissing contest later, okay?
Sarcasm...
I'm as happy as anyone about this win. Just making the point that when things go well all the naysayers seem to dissapear.

http://www.kingsfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33800&page=2Nobody here has called him a "garbage player," ever. (I Googled it thoroughly, just to be sure.)
As has been pointed out, you have a complete monopoly on the use of the term "garbage player" with regard to JT.

As for whether or not Evans is, or will become, the next John Stockton, you might want to let that subject quietly die away. He may show potential for greatness as a basketball player, and Westphal has proven that he can get our peculiar roster to not only do well, but to clearly overperform. Whether he can do that with Martin (or any other SG) in tandem with Evans remains to be seen. It's far from a foregone conclusion at this point, but so far, with a few very tentative results in, there's no evidence that he can.
So I'd counsel to let it go for at least a few months. If Evans + Beno stay successful, you may ultimately lose that argument, but everyone will have forgotten about it, because we'll all be too excited about winning some @#!$ games for a change.
All I know is that when Evans is bringing the ball towards the paint the defense stacks up to cover him.

did someone say a pissing contest?? Where do I sign up. I hope Tyreke doesn't become the next john stockton. A guy that has to depend on one of best big men in the league to carry him his entire career. Take Karl Malone off that team and insert lets say Kenny Thomas. Then see how much success he has lol. Tyreke > Stockton.
Off subject I am watching a football game why do the fans cheer when the guy is placed on the stretcher I mean he still isn't moving.
I have an interesting question. How many assists would Stockton get a game playing with to quote Brick, "blackhole where all assists go" JT?
How do you know. You state this as fact when the simple fact is that all Evans has shown us is that he has tremendous upside, an already semi polished game to reach his potential, and ice in his veins. Maybe he will never be the assist machine Stock-boy was but who is to say he can't have as great, or even greater, impact on the game. YOU DON'T KNOW.stockton would still get his assists and thompson would be an all star.... do you guys watch other teams besides the kings? sloan had stockton and malone on a leash... they wouldve been even beastlier (is that even a word? apparently it is according to the spell checker ) if they played today.... if jason kidd can make kenyon martin an all-star and make mikki moore a full mle center stockton would make thompson a hall of famer... evans will never be that good, the standards are much lower nowadays....
granted i know you guys really arent serious but i just had to say it....![]()

To be fair to AM I think he was referring specifically to Stockton's (or other great point guards) ability to make players on their team seem a lot a lot better than they are. As much as an Evans supporter I am, pg sg whatever g basketball player he is, I think it is fairly safe to say that it is very very unlikely that Tyreke will ever have that kind of ability.
You have to be able to draw the line between saying that he has tremendous upside and that he can be as good a PG as stockton. Tyreke can very well be a superstar in his own right, but he is more likely to make a name for himself scoring at will and dominating against other teams than turning sub par talents into allstars.
Does it really matter?
Yes.

I really don't get all this comparing Evans to other players. Evan is this... Evans isn't this ...
Does it really matter? He already is showing a great amount of promise. Personally i like the fact that they are making him play PG now, i still think down the track he will be a better SG and a better team player because of the skills he learning now playing the point. We already have a SG who can score alot, but not do much else, so I think this is a pleasant change.
Also, when was the last time we had a rookie make anything close to this type of impact in the first few games? Plus the national media seem to have just found out we still exist, it's great to see us on Sportcentre Top 10's etc...
I just wished i lived in the US so i could actually go and watch this team live (I've started planning a trip to the US, sadly probably not for another 18 months though).
Go Kings!
18 months from now we could be in our first playoffs in 5 years, so your timing could be perfect.![]()
That's sort of my hope. But my other issue will be getting tickets if we are back in the time of sellouts every night.
If you get here to attend a game and can't get a ticket, let me know.
