IT = Rumor of 3/24 offer from Pistons

It has always been "me, me, me." That may not be an opinion of everyone but his game has always been an extension of that attitude. Now the rest of the league can hear his sorry story. It's a lot different than the attitude Cuz has.
You pay IT as much as Cuz gets and you might see something different in the way of attitude. Bad comparison. Who has more games started at such a cheap price? You and I would be looking for a pay day as well - and with a "me, me, me." Just saying.

Maybe that's where we disagree.
There's a classy way to do it. "Letting the numbers speak for themselves" means you should let the numbers speak for themselves.

To toot your own horn is tacky.

The more I read, the more fed up with the guy I get:

http://www.slamonline.com/nba/q-a-isaiah-thomas/

SLAM: There’s some talk, a lot of people seem to think you’re not a starting point guard, you’re best as a sparkplug or Sixth Man. Why do you think you’re a starting point guard, what makes you right for that role?

IT: A lot of guys in this League can’t average 20 points and 6 assists in this League like I did. I don’t want to sound cocky or anything, but that’s tough to do. With talented guys around me, I can lead a team to the Playoffs, and I’m going to show people that, I’m going to prove people wrong. I know that being 5-9 that scares a lot of people, because that’s not the prototypical starting point guard in the NBA. I’m going to keep fighting, keep working and I’m going to show teams and show people that I am a legitimate starting point guard.

SLAM: Do you think your draft slot has anything to do with it? Kyrie Irving was drafted the same year as you, you guys posted similar averages and he got that contract extension and you’re still waiting. Do you think it might be because you were the last pick in the draft?

IT: It’s not even that. It’s because I’m 5-9. If I was 6-foot, I would be signing for $90 million contract, just like him. Not to put anything on him, he’s a great player and he’s earned that. But at the same time, I know the politics of the game and I know what I’ve been through to this point. I’m 5-foot-9 and that’s why I was the 60th pick. That’s why the Kings keep bringing new guys in. That’s the reason why. And I understand and you can’t put it past that. If I was 6-foot, I would be a max player. I think a lot of people feel that way, too.

To be fair he is pretty much right, if he had normal PG size it would help one of his weaknesses(being able to see the floor better), he would be a nightmare with his quickness(even more than he already is because he would be a more explosive finisher around the basket), shooting ability(he would actually be a better shooter if he was taller, being able to elevate and shoot over defenders more comfortably, he's already a very good shooter as is), but he isn't so that is why his market value is expected to be the same or similar to guys like Jodie Meeks, Grievis Vasquez, Carl Landry, Jason Thomspon etc.

To be fair, if he was 7'7" he'd possibly be one of the greatest players of all time. He isn't which means the weaknesses his heights brings remains, which increases the silliness of his argument.

The part of the interview where IT says if he talented guys around him he can lead a team to the playoffs......umm, he had the best center in the league to work with and Rudy Gay....your team managed 28 wins.

Here's a good question someone should ask IT....Would you rather start and average 20 and 6 and your team finish in the lottery or would you rather come off the bench, get 24 minutes a game, average 14 and 4 and your team finishes in the playoffs?

After reading these quotes, it's obvious IT isn't just a midget, he's also a mental midget. I really hope he's not on the roster next year, even if the Kings don't manage to get something back via a sign&trade.

Isaiah is really badly delusional. This in particular irks me to no end. "It’s frustrating, but at the same time I don’t expect anything, I was never given anything my whole entire career."

Never given anything? How about the starting job? The opportunity to score those 20 ppg? What is he even talking about?

And this "I’m 5-foot-9 and that’s why I was the 60th pick. That’s why the Kings keep bringing new guys in. That’s the reason why."

Really? He sounds like some of his fanboys. It's your style of play as a 5'9 player. Everything he says he shows not even the slightest interest in the success of his team or teammates. It's really uncanny. He not a smart man. He has no understanding of his place in the universe and I'm glad he'll be someone else's problem, probably averaging that 14 and 4 coming off the bench. Whether he likes it or not. No one wants him as a starter. The teams looking at him already have starters. Reality check time.

To me it just sounds like frustration because he has worked so hard but a physical limitation is what keeps him from taking the next step and he is so competitive he doesn't want to accept it. Well when someone pays him it will make all the hard work feel like it payed off and he can focus on being the best damn 5'9 player to ever play the game, however far it takes him.

I can't see how you Sac fans(on kingsfans.com at least, everywhere else IT is pretty much beloved) can rag on this guy so much. He pretty much represents everything that you guys as a fanbase went through with the relocation thing. The little guy that kept being told you aren't good enough, small market etc. that kept fighting and kept its team. That is the IT story(and part of the reason Sacramento loves the kid).

IT just needs to stop talking to the media about himself and how glorious of a player he is. Be professional, don't belittle your former team or teammates and just snag the best opportunity for a long term deal.

And what you and the other IT fans don't get is that we would love him if he embraced his role including his limitations. He could have been a major, beloved long- term asset to this team if he didn't spend so much time and energy trying to prove to everyone how much we don't respect him. Instead we get him complaining about his role, his competition, his teammates, the world, etc.
