It IS Skinner (title edited)

I'm sure brick could build a Kings team that could go all the way. It's not like it's that hard. All he needs is a chance! How bout it Maloofs?

Not going to go that far.

However, if the Maloofs are ever tempted to hire a Babcock or St. Jean they should definitely look me up first. ;)

I hope you realize being hired as an interim coach of the Kings would not relieve you of your grade thread duties.

;)

Would you refer to yourself in the first or third person?

Oh heck I want no part of coaching.

GMing from a luxury box is more appealing. ;)

Who draws the conclusion acquiring an end of the bench totally unproven player like Monia all of the sudden spells the end of the carreer for Bonzi as a Sacramento King?

What kind of jump in logic is this? Just b/c they play the same position? Get real. When you have 12 roster spots on your team, 15 with the inactive list, a few players are going to play the same position.

Not only is this deal better for us cap-wise going forward, Potapenko is better suited to run our high post offense than Skinner. Trading Skinner was an easy decision to make....just like trading Hart or Big Nasty would be if anyone wanted them.

Potapenko is not a bad player. Give him a chance to show his skills.

And the European player we picked up has to be a player Geoff Petrie knows well, b/c Sergei Monia was drafted 3 spots AHEAD of Kevin Martin. So who knows he may have been a King if the Blazers did not take him.

I remember seeing Monya in spot minutes, maybe in garbage time, earlier this year. His body type is like Cisco Garcia, and he runs fast. That's the extent of my scouting report.

Thank you Geoff Petrie for not trading for Earl Watson.

How can he show something he does not have? (just kidding-kindof)

Are you seriously telling me that you don't think that you could do what Isaiah Thomas does?

Even I could do as good a job as Isaiah Thomas, despite the fact that my basketball team would most likely be compiled of players picked for their pretty smiles and big muskles.

I bet I'd finally be able to get those lucky charm tickets to every game that I've been lobbying for.

Would your team wear the old-style shorts? If so, I'm starting a "G3 for GM" movement in the morning!!!

;)

They'd be lucky to even wear that.

Oh... you meant ON court, didn't you?

Nah, I'd stick with the current baggy shorts.

I don't get this at all. Seattle gets the backup point guard we need and we get rid of our only interior presence so we can appeal to the euros? It's confusing. One week the team has decided to go defense, the next it's goodbye Skinner?

Don't be ignorant to Sergei Monia, swisshh.

Skinner wasn't being used much on the year, even when Artest came, he was only used in good minutes once or twice. Other than that it was 5-8 minutes when he was used, on the year. Rick didn't even start him when Brad was out, he used the recovering-SAR at center. Heck, he didn't even use 6'11" athletic Sampson who can block shots with regularity. Plus Skinner's contract.

Who knows, could we'll sign someone off free-agency ;). Though I highly doubt it.

Another 6'7-6'8 tweener? That's exactly what we need!

The fact Skinner didn't get playtime is part of the problem. It's sickening watching the Lakers eat us alive inside.

He's a SF, not a tweener. The question just is is he Ryan Bowen or a homeless man's Kirilenko?

Doesn't solve our frontcourt issues, but not a bad move to pickup a young guy with potential.

Eh my point was that he's more of what we already have. SF/SG is the last of our needs.

This is pretty much a "blah" trade. I don't think it is really going to effect us much. Vitaly will take Skinner's place on the bench plus his contract is up this year. Don't know much about Monia, but could be a prospect.
damn, this is what I get for working 10 hour days and then hitting the gym, I was outta touch on this trade...just found out.:D That being said...both these guys I doubt will be on the team next season, strictly a salary move...I doubt either see's much time the rest of this season...$$$ for Bonzi!!:)

I rather suspect we hang onto Monia just to see what develops. And why not? Developing kids is a good thing that we neglected for far too long.

I guess we're more inclined for this now than before, not sure if it will happen, I do think we're developing Martin and Garcia just fine, though. The reason we never did it before, or at least the 7 seasons before this one is the fact that young guys not named Hedo were stashed on the end of the bench because of lack of experience and rotation issues. I.E.: Wallace.

It is indeed. But if Bonzi's out, or Bonzi leaves in the summer, there'll be a spot open for Monia. Also, now we can mainly focus on the PG and PF/C spots with the draft/trades/free-agency in the summer. Bonzi is the other thing.

Oh yeah, somebody needs to start giving Jerry Reynolds lessons on the proper pronounciation of Potapenko. That one's always brutal.

Ouch. Thats going to be tough considering Jerry couldnt say (DEE- vats) during the 6 years Vlade was here.
