It is possible for the mavs to win 65-70 games this year ?

I hate the mavs just as much as the lakers, so i don't why i might be saying this . Last year the mavs won 60 games with injuries to key players.

This team is so stacked , it is not even funny !

diop/dampier
dirk/croshere
howard/george
harris/stackhouse
terry/johnson

greg buckner,maurice ager(rookie from msu),

And outside of the folks sentenced to do time in Dallas... who cares? They are still too soft to win it all. ;)

Knowing Avery, he'll use Buckner at SG over Harris. Buckner's a (bit) smaller Adrian Griffin, and is indeed his replacement. Similar team and defensive players. As Griffin was used as the starting SG for over half of the season (Griffin came in December). Both also have come back to the team after being away.

Harris will probably get some starts based on certain match-ups.

70 games? I really doubt it. Low 60s? Yes.

Every year everybody wants somebody to win 70 games. Sorry, it just does not happen. If there is ever going to be a 70 win team out there again, you will know it when you see it. It won't look like other teams. Its not going to be an ensemble cast either -- it will be led by at least two players simply better than anybody else, and then a hell of a supporting cast.

60 wins? Sure. That's a great team in and of itself, but doable. Reachable as a goal. 70 wins however requires borderline perfection. No slipups. No significant slumps. No injuries.

Mavs haven't got any weaker, but I'm not sure how they've got stronger either. They'll be back in the mix, but I'm not sure what would ignite a 70 win season there.

They will win 70 games, and Austin Croshere will win the MVP, having grown his hair out and becoming the Steve Nash of the center position.

All the teams that won 65+. All but 1 won that year's title. Mavs don't have a chance in hell of doing either. Look at the teams that were able to pull off 65. Mavs couldn't touch any of their game-worn jocks.

00 Lakers - 67
97 Bulls - 69
96 Bulls - 72
92 Bulls - 67
87 Lakers - 65
86 Celtics - 67
83 Sixers - 65
73 Celtics - 68
72 Lakers - 69
71 Bucks - 66
67 Sixers - 68

its funny when you look at their roster... they dont even look that good... but regardless of how good they are they are not going to win 70 games... i say they get 62 max....

Heck no. The west is getting better and I don't really like what the Mavs did this offseason. I don't think they're more talented than last season(where they had a lot of luck) and I don't even think they'll win the west. I'd take SA/Phx over Dallas with Amare back and SA getting way more athleticism up front.

hahahhahahahahah this post is funny haahahha 65-70 hahahaha

i say no:mad:

SA also downgraded at the 5 spot and Duncan ain't getting younger. I feel Dallas is now superior to SA. Phx is a big "?"

nobody played at the center position, how exactly could they be worse off with rookies vs. veterans? and since when did anybody get any younger? tim is 2 years older than dirk, but he's a much better player. dallas was lucky to get that far this year, being they're still chokers in the clutch.

Elson isn't bad at all. He'll hustle, has a legit jumper, plays with energy, good rebounder and defender, athletic, above-average blocker. Butler's an intriguing young mobile big, that has shown some things, but needs to develop and get more time than he did in NY at least.

I also think Bowen will be back to giving Dirk fits most of the year again. Bowen didn't defend Dirk that well in the series because of being worn out by Bonzi/Ron previously. Spurs have another hustle/defensive player to throw at Dirk in Eric Williams. Who isn't what he was, but can still d up and be a team player.

Overall Spurs have improved depth.

Mohammed didn't get much PT and Rasho isn't that good. They got two athletic guys who actually aren't liabillities on offense. Once Elson and Butler get PT you'll see what Kings 113 and I are talking about.
