I don't think anybody can make that team a contender.
adn new GM could, but they have serious contrat problems with palyers that make many of them untradeable so it will take a long term project (3 or more years) Doubt if PJ wants to wait that long, but ya never know. It would not be the firts time that a NY franchise just threw money at a personal problem.

Understatement of the century. :)

Like I said in the other thread, they're really only a big-man removed from being a pretty good team. Not a championship contender, but something for the New Yorkers to be proud of for at least 82 games. They need a more depth before they really scare anybody.

More depth? Hardly. They need more talent, which is something else entirely. They already have far too many mediocre players fighting over limited minutes, and not a superstar to be found anywhere..

I hope Phil Jackson takes on the job, which he won't. He is not man enough for the challenge. Phil is better suited to win games with the likes of Jordan, Pippen, O'Neil, and Bryant. His ego couldn't handle the humiliation of 50 losses per year. The myth of his greatness would be shattered, perhaps even in his own mind.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

ooo interesting....very interesting...

i think Phil would like to go back and coach the team he once played for but i think a lot of changes would have to be made first or before the start of next season before Phil would agree to join that train wreck

Aint gonna happen. Both PJ and Zeke's egos will not allow them to work together. Both would want more control over decisions than the other.

I think it has more to do with PJ knowing this team isn't championship ready.

the knicks are fubar, phil isn't going to coach them. he just likes the savior publicity.
Worse than that, the Knicks don't have a ready-made championship core. That "knickses" them right off the bat. I would like to see Jax butt heads with Isiah though. Jax resented even mild-mannered Logo. I think he might actually chaffe more from Isiah than he did from Krause.

More like Phil might be able to manuver himself INTO getting the job. I can't immagine that Isiah really wants the guy who ran the freggin LOGO outta LA in a position of power.
