Anytime you hire a friend, it is risky. I know he is the maloofs buddy, but at least have him as an assistant before throwing him into a head coaching job in the nba.

Asked my friend (he had to work today) and there was nothing mentioned. But yah, looks like Whis is the choice. What was said above. Probally Wednesday, or Thurs. It will be Whis.

I agree that it will probably and unfortunately be on Wednesday. I wish they would just hurry up and get it over with.

the maloofs are stalling for the sake of appearances. the longer they wait, the more that the illusion of throughness is projected, when they have, in fact, been sitting on their asses with the decision already made since friday.

Bingo... Notice how the decision was to be made "After the holiday" Then the day before "after the holiday" Gee! Guess who just finished their interview?! What perfect timing that was!

I'm pretty sure they made this decision before they fired Adelman and just did a few interviews for the heck of it to see if they could do better in their minds with another guy, but I think Wise was their guy for some time now.

so they interviewed whiz, elie, and musselman...

THATS IT??????

I agree, what's that all about? Three guys. I thought the Maloofs were going to do an extensive search to find the best possible guy for the job. This reeks of "nepotism" (new word I learned from Bricklayer):D .

Honestly there's not a whole lot of guys out there that you'd even want. Furthermore there are probalby only a few guys that fit the mold for what they are looking to do with the team. Take Larry Brown and Stan Van Gundy out of that equation and who else is there?? Eric Musselman, Mario Elie. John Whisenant, they might shy away from P.J. because he replaced Adelman twice already, Michael Cooper maybe?? Honestly there aren't a whole lot of guys that I could really see them interviewing.

I think the Monarchs play on Wednesday. I would think they wouldn't do it on game day like that, so maybe if not today Thursday.

It isn't literally nepotism since they aren't family. The word cronyism springs to mind, but that's usually reserved for the political arena.

Whatever you want to name it, I call it idiocy. I just hope this isn't the first in a series of moves that are later seen as returning us to perennial loser status.

Rick Adelman is available, or so I've heard. ;)

Since this thread is rapidly turning into simply an extension of the myriad of others already in process, I'm going to close this. The answer to the initial question is "No, there is no press conference (at least not one that has been announced) scheduled for tomorrow."

If that changes, I'm sure someone will post the news immediately.

GO KINGS!!!
