Is it just me, or is Mobley the WORST decision maker ever!?

SacTown

G-League
Don't get me wrong, I love what Cat has brought to this team, and I know that he likes a quick offense, but come on. He shoots way to many quick shots and hurried chances which is something the entire team is trying to get out of, and sure, being that he makes a lot of those shots everything seems alright, but when he misses them in crunchtime, somthing is wrong.

I mean, everyone knows that the bibby shot with 22 left on the shot clock was horrible, and led the partial way for the loss, but it just seems to me that Cat takes shots like that almost every-other time he touches the ball.

I really hate some of the decisions he makes. He's got skill, but not enough to hit every quick shot he lobs up like 34 was doing last night.

hey sactown i agree. and disagree. i agree that cat is a selfish player and/or bad decision maker however after seeing the performance bibby had in the second half you realize the team is flawed and there are plenty of fingers to go around and point at others. while cat is not exactly the ideal 'team player' we knew what kind of player he was when he was aquired. true bibby had a great first half but it is a 4 qtr game and in the second he had NO mojo. bad shots, bad passes, bad decisions. the loss lies in everyones hands, not just cats.

yeah, francis is a terrible decision maker. i think mobley just wants to push it most of the time. like last night for example. we were only down 4 points and he jacked up a rushed 3-pointer. IT'S LIKE EVERYONE WAS SO CONCERNED WITH OFFENSE LAST NIGHT. no one wanted to get down and dirty and put that energy on the defensive end. i cut off my t.v. didnt want to watch.

I think cat is selfish, but i dont think he's a bad decision maker. Most of the time you see us down 3, then he takes that 3 and ties it up. Of course it wont fall all the time, but its a 50/50 chance, tie the game, or a miss. At least he takes the chance.

as far as Bibby goes.... he's just being too HARD HEADED in these previous games... if your shot isnt falling, DONT FORCE IT!!. And Adelman should have put someone like Bobby or House in. You barely even seen subs come in the 4th. (well it seemed like it. )

i know! they had a full shot clock! man... seriously i think Bibby's hiding something, and i sure hope it isnt "bad"

I hope Mobley opts out. That's all I have to say.

I agree. However, Mobley stands to earn 6+ million if he stays with the Kings. Is there another team that will pay him 6 million or sign him to a "long" term deal?

I just don't like his game. I have some admiration for his shot making ability but I'm not sure his game fits the Kings system.

His D is f-ing terrible. He let Ray Allen have the game of his life. Don't know why he wasn't replaced with a faster Evans. It's hart to blame Mobley though, when it's the coaches decision.

It will be hard to replace Mobley's scoring if we continue to use this system. We need to resign him (cheap as possible hopefully). He takes some ill-advised shots, but that can be neutralized. Look at the market and you won't find anyone better than him, at least not in our price range.

We could save the money, go young and see who develops. But making the playoffs become that much harder.

I don't doubt that Mobley will be able to find someone willing to pay him the money he's looking for.

what was with bibby shooting that three from the parking lot

gosh ...
I wonder if Bibby thought that there wasnt any time on the shot clock. That shot looked too much like a 'no time on the clock just chuck the ball up to avoid a shot clock violation shot'.

why is it in this town that Bobby Jackson is a hero for playing 1 on 1 style and jacking up ill advised shots, but when anyone else does it they need to go. Be realistic. All of you cheer when Mobley's shots go in, and you say he sucks when they don't.

I've seen much worst player with bad decisions. Some already mention them above (Francis, JWill).

There should be an All-Selfish NBA Team:

1. Ricky Davis
2. Kobe Bryant
3. Steve Francis
4. Cuttino Mobley

who else should be on this list?

I was going to say the exact same thing. When Mobley goes on one of his huge streaks (Ala' the Clipper game during the regular season) he's a hero. But, whatever.

And whats this about Mobley letting Allen have a career game? Come on, no one was guarding Allen that night. Not Mobley. Not Christie. Not anyone.

yup. mobley is streaky and inconsistent. but he's not the only one making bad decisions. bibby is looking like he's the one who hasn't had any playoff experience.

I agree...I don't think anyone could have guard Ray in the 2nd half. Reminded me of TMac, just making shots with someone in your face.

well maybe not, but we sure could've been more physical and sent him to the line more. he shot 28 times and only went to the line 5 times. i blame adelman for not trying to put different bodies on ray and i blame the players for letting him get layup after layup and not sending a hard foul his way.

Because Bobby Jackson is a way better defender and rebounder and is alot tougher

I think this kobe might be selfish but he certainly doesn't take bad shots He is a scorer and still one of the best one-on-one players in the NBA. As for Iverson, I agree that he shoots too much but he certainly is starting to play better and has even developed some chemistry with Webb. You can't copare either of them to Cuttino. Think about it - in the 4th quarter who would you give the ball to...kobe/ivy or mobley?

Plus he is excellent in shifiting momentum and starting runs out of nowhere. Bobby may shoot as much as Mobley but he also gets back down the court and defends.

i didnt read any of the posts above, ill get back to them but yea....he is stupid when it comes to decision making...i mean its not just now, hes been doing this his whole career...i made a thread about how hes a turnover machine earlier this year......i think hes neem around francis too long....mobley makes some dumb passes, and takes some dumb shots....bibby isnt a great decision maker himself, he also takes some dumb shots, and makes dumb passes...throws alley-oops when they are not needed....but hes not as bad as mobley...yesterday mobley had like 2 or 3 steals, then he would throw the ball away right back to them, that really pissed me off......

Thank God we had those whopping ZERO rebounds from Bobby last night. And he really shut down Ray Allen when he was in the game.

Yeah how can a PG cover a SG effectively:rolleyes: . How tall is Ray Allen again?

And if Bobby played like he did last night every night nobody would talk about Bobby at all. Quite obviously he does not, and he is as a rule a dynamic and focused force, for better or wirse, with none of the casual air about him that cat often exudes.

So this year Cat is going to be the polarizing player?

Cuttino Mobley didn't give up last night, and that's something I can't say about many of the rest of the guys on the court.

You're always pretty hard on him, Brick, so I tend to take it with a grain of salt. Last night, I saw him passing the ball frequently - although Bibby acted like it was poison on several occasions and the commentators made it sound like that was Cat's fault.

No one was above reproach by the end of last night's game, but I give Cat a little more credit because he was still obviously wanting to win.
