Is DMC a future All-star? - from ESPN

He's obviously a future All Star if he can keep his head on straight. That's not even a question.

Can only read the article if you're an Insider subscriber. I'm not anymore.

If you go down underneath it and click on the 5 by 5 link or whatever, it takes you to it insider or not. Do not worry too much though, those guys just chip in twitter length thoguhts and generally know less aobu the team than most posters around here.

Thanks. You are right about the guys making the comments, tho. ;)

Totally agreed - it's not even a question - well, other than the obvious question - will this Kings organization (and especially coaching and players) allow Demarcus to get the touches that will ensure the kinds of production that are required to have the league (and fans) recognize his talents?

So far, with the coaches NOT playing him enough minutes for him to have the absurd numbers that the league needs to get a spotlight on a player, I am not convinced they know how to spotlight a big man.

They did great in giving Tyreke all the opportunities he could handle to get the national attention on his ROY campaign.

I'd love to see this team throw everything they could at DMC and allow him enough opportunities to FORCE the league to recognize DMC's skills. Once that happened, the refs would likely get off his *** a bit and let him play more, which would coincide with him getting more #'s still.

It's a critical-mass kind of situation, and Demarcus is RIGHT at the edge of it, if the media is noticing the numbers he's been putting up this year (which are nothing compared to what he COULD be putting up).

If the other players would back away from taking rebounds from DMC (the way every other team with a dominant big man does) so those could be puffed up to the 13+ range, and if they set him up with great penetration-and-dish-off dunks so that he would average over 20 PPG, it could happen very easily and quickly - this year, easily, but not likely by All-Star break.

Check my post in the other thread -- he's actually leading all centers in FGA/48, and the great limiation on hisminutes is that he is leading the league in fouls by a wide margin for the second year in a row.

Not the last 2 or 3 games....

Maybe Cousins saw prior to the game that one of those idiots thought he'd never be an all star. Dominated tonight.

Yep demarcus is only competing against himself right now. If he keeps a good head on his shoulders were going places
