Now granted the above interview is with his agent, but they have set out a plan. He doesn't rule out Dario coming to the league this summer, and he does state Dario is excited to be an NBA player, and has a dream to become an NBA all star. However, it does state that there is a belief in their camp that he will benefit from staying in Europe for a season or two.

His coach from the Croatian national team has also suggested it might be best for Dario to stay in Europe for a couple of seasons to play for a top European club.
Though his mentor from Cibona has confidence Dario is ready to play straight away if a team can guarantee him minutes. He also believes Dario can be an all star.

I don't dispute that the kid is talented. He seems to have a decent, versatile skill set according to the draft express video. But when you take into account some of his weaknesses (inconsistent shooter, lack of speed and athleticism, questionable defense, only a 6'10 wingspan etc), then I'm really not convinced he would be the 'right' pick if we draft at #7.
I suppose he could be a project, and if he develops into an all star then that's great. But if we are looking at a project I'd rather look at a big like Gordon. He brings better defense, speed and athleticism to the table. If they can improve his offensive skill set, which is possible, then Gordon could be an excellent player to pair with Cousins. Equally another project that we would be better off looking at is Zach Lavine. He projects as a PG/SG. He really did shine at the combine, and he could be developed into a very good player at either guard position. With Thomas (if re-signed), McLemore and LaVine that would give the team three very talented and athletic guys to play PG, SG and sixth man.
I think we have better options than taking a risk on Dario.
