I had a bad experience tonight

G-League
I was out at the Fountains watching the game. First Dave & Busters and then Tres Agaves. At D&B, no one seemed to care. More screens were tuned into the Dodgers-Giants game. Then we walked over to Agave. Only one TV was tuned into the Kings-Lakers and half the freaking people in there were pulling for the Lakers. I was one of the only ones pulling for the Kings. Even some people in our group were indifferent, and they were also more interested in the Dodgers-Giants. This just sucks and what the NBA has done to turn off fans in the community to the game just sucks as well.

At any rate, I started this thread, because my experience seems to be different than what I have read elsewhere tonight about the sorrow that many fans have had. Screw the Lakers and any local/native who would pull for them!

That is sad. I just don't see how local sports fans can not support our team. it's OK to like other teams too but how can they just not care about the Kings. Even if they don't like the team, don't the see how cool it is to have the NBA in Sacramento? Even if they're Laker fans, it gives them two times a year to see the Lakers. It's really a bummer because if attendance had been good for the last few years i honestly don't think they'd be leaving right now. This is more about them making more money immediately than it is about an arena.

It makes get my blood pressure up too.

I was reading on my Facebook news feed and some people were actually oblivious until yesterday that the Maloofs want to move the team. One post didn't even know the Monarchs were defunct and stated "why aren't people making a big deal about the Monarchs leaving town.

As for the fans at Agave, I'm going to pull out an old quote and from LA fan Gargamel and say "don't worry they're just Kobe boys." How many Bulls fans in the 90's were actually rooting for the whole team?

My experience was just as bad. I was at the game tonight and non of the Lakers fans near me showed any sympathy. They were laughing and kept on saying BYE B****** and there's a reason they are leaving Sacramento. It was pissing me off.

Yeah classless and clueless, especially since they kind of live in this town. Last year during Reke's 20-5-5 night against Houston I had a group of ***** fans behind me and they were there only to root for Ariza.

Yeah, and how many of these people actually live in the area and are probably from the area? Pathetic. The Sac Bee has picked up on this as well.

A lot. I have a few friends like that. They're Laker fans (as are their entire family) and just consider the Kings a joke. Even when the Kings were good they didn't like them. Personally I don't understand how you can be a basketball fan and not root for your hometown team, but many people don't. It's probably some sort of self loathing thing in Sacramento. Maybe some folks see Sacramento as a loser town and figure they'd be rooting for a loser team by supporting the Kings. I don't know.

My one solace in this is that they won't get to watch the lakers live, nor jeer kings fans anymore. I didn't go to tonight's game because I knew if I heard "queens", I would have thrown some punches.

Amen. They can't get Lakers tickets, nor can they afford them. They'll have to watch the Lakers when they go to Clippers games now instead of taking the short cruise over to Natomas. Idiots.
