Good for them.

I have to struggle though what the Giants are trying to accomplish right now.

Why are we trading our youngsters for the likes of Randy Winn and LaTroy Hawkins.

Sabean should take a note from Beane.

Prospects = Good.

Yup. Last year should be the last of bet everything on now with Barry, so hopefully we start getting prospects then. Really, we should be building for the future now, but who knows what Sabean is up to.

I never understood the Sacto fascination with the Giants over the A's. By most standards the A's have been the considerably more accomplished franchise, and even ahve thier minor league team in the area. Maybe its the Giants' Cubsesque lovable-loser-West thing that appeals to Sacto fans who miss the good ole Tizzy days of the Kings or something.

Sad, but very true - I accepted a long time ago that the A's are the Bay Area's red-headed stepchild, and regardless of their achievements will always live in the Giants' shadow. Somehow it makes what the A's have done that much more satisfying - they continue to succeed with a low payroll, an inadequate ballpark, and an apathetic fan base.

Oh well, I kinda like being the underdog.

I think the Giants fans are reflective of the fact that San Francisco is the face of the bay area in general, no one thinks Oakland when they hear bay area. Plus, in my situation at least and with a lot of people I know, people have roots in the city, family that moved there or immigrated there from somewhere else, etc. and then people moved east to Sac or elsewhere.

I can't believe A's fans still get excited over their late season charge, only to make the playoffs and be a warmup for some team trying to win it all. Must be the cute yellow and green that keeps them coming back.

Well at least the A's franchise has proven in its West Coast history that it is actually CAPABLE of going ahead and winning it all. As opposed to certain teams, which shall go nameless, which were last of significance some 3000 miles away when Lucille Ball still owned the tube. ;)

Yup ..... been one since they came to Oakland

It's a long season ... still a long ways to go. As long as they play with some consistency, should be fine.

Leave the Kings out of this, we're talking baseball.
