I don't want this to be another trade Brad Miller thread...

but does anyone else dig the small lineup? I like it with either:

PG - Bibby
SG - Kevin
SF - Ronnie
PF - KT
C - Reef

Or...

PG - Bibby
SG - Kevin
SF - SaLmons
PF - Ronnie
C - KT/Reef

It's a fun bunch to watch. I've been wanting to make this post for a couple games, but I figured it'd get eaten alive by a big front line. But what happened tonight? We murdered the freaking Pistons on the glass.

woohoo.

I like it when Rasheed Wallace goes 0-9 (missing shots he wouldn't normally mind you) and the opposing coach lacks the inside power to take advantage of it. Nazr is their only big man but likes inside scoring power, and therefore only played 13 minutes. It will not fly against many teams. I too like the lineup, and think it can be used strategically throughout the game in order to provide some offensive punch and to change the pace. I suspect we will be in for some TDM awards going out to some big men very soon. (Not that the Brad Miller injury really affects that :p )

I wouldn;t draw too many lessons from tongiht's game. Nor would I put these Pistons too nhigh up on a pedastal They really looked stinky.

In any case, looks like we have little choice but to go with the former of those two lineups for some time here, so we'll have plenty of chances to see it in action. Woohoo indeed.

The absolute key is Ron needs to continue to basically double his career rebounding average. That's asking a lot. But through 5 games at least it looks like Larry Bird would be justified in more ways than one if he slapped the crap out of Ron next time he saw him -- he pleaded with Ron for years to board, and yet could never get more than maybe 5 a game out of him. This is a bit like having Peja grab 9 a game for you (in fact Peja was actually a BETTER rebounder than Ron prior to this year  ).

I realize we're all a little high on this win right now, and it's good that the small ball is working in the short term since it's our only option, but, seriously, the above lineups are like something out of my nightmares.

Seriously.

I got goose bumps and everything.

No matter if the opponent impresses you, one thing is very true. Although undersized this team is hustling their butts off! I bow to the effort Eric Musselman has brought to this team.

I just hope the offense comes along with it soon. :o

I was happy that they didn't play Nazr for more than a quarter. Now that he's getting reasonable minutes, he's been putting up very respectable numbers, and when it was him vs. SAR, it seemed like SAR was getting beaten up a bit.

So I'm delighted with the win tonight, but don't think it proves a thing about small ball. It's not as if KT had humiliated Brand for 35 minutes, or Corliss had gotten the better of Camby. Both teams played without a C for at least 75% of the game. Detroit got the worse of the deal, but it's not always going to be that way.

anyone notice that when Artest is in the game, sometimes the offense just stalls and when he is out, it is much smoother...
