another game missed. i moved into a new apartment 4 weeks ago. cant wait till i get cable so i can order league pass. kings win 98-91. ron artests first game as a king in arco. bonzi's first game back. how was the individual and team defense? we faced probably the most talented team out of the last 7 we've played and somehow managed to win this one. ((other than the knicks))

Better. Not great. But better. They still scored a ton of points in the paint and Kenyon Martin in particular was just too athletic for our frontline (of course we were starting three SFs). But we won most of the hustle battles out there, Bonzi was back to save our bacon on the glass, and generally we put up resistance. The hustle made it look and feel a lot better than maybe the results were. At least you could see the effort.

So take of it what you will. Not a great defensive night, but you could see some improvement and potential for the future. We just still really need a goalie back there to intimidate people from attacking the rim.

all i'm concerned about is keeping the guards out of the paint. bibby plays well on the defensive end if he has the right player next to him. mike bibby owned steve nash during the webber era. maybe it's because he was alongside DC. this bibby/bonzi and artest lineup should be a decent defensive perimeter when healthy

I think with Artest and Wells out there going balls out most of the game other people get exposed. I'm hoping that pride kicks in and hustle and passion is not something that seems as foreign as it was in the first part of the season.(PR-Pre Ron)

I agree that a shot blocker would really solidify the team defensively. However, Bibby can go a long way to helping the teams D by just staying in front of his man.

I now firmly believe that Bibby simply cannot stay in front of his man. I'm sure he desires to do so, he simply doesn't have the reaction and quickness required. he will always be a defensive liability. But he is an amazing shooter. Not exactly the ideal make-up for a point guard.

I think if Miller was playing we could have broke out offensively. Our defense, a little better.

It felt like we started scrambling when the Nuggets started breathing down our neck. Pretty solid help defense in spots, but nothing consistent.

IMO - Bibby's defense will never change ..... I watch him and HE LURKS. He's always lurked. Struggles around picks/screens ... that's just the way it is. He's better off switching (which they have been doing), and hoping they can switch back if the defensive rotation allows for it.

Thank Gawd we've got good help (NOW) when Bibby gets beat.
