How happy are you as a fan? Take the survey and see! (https://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/45344992/sports-misery-index)

Welcome to ESPN’s Sports Misery Index. You’ve probably seen rankings of the happiest sports cities, or the most cursed teams. What we’re doing here is a little more personal. You tell us what pro teams you love and we’ll crunch the numbers – no fancy AI needed here – to tell you just how happy you should be.

We do this using a number of key data points, including regular and postseason success, as well as a team’s expected success going into a season. After all, a team that just won a championship might feel very differently about a .500 season than a team that just finished in the basement.

None of my teams have won anything since the mid-90s but I don’t feel like I’m personally at the “woeful” level that ESPN gave me.

I’m a Sacramento Kings and Chicago Bears and SF Giants fan yet I look forward to every game. I don’t need ESPN trying to tell me anything

I yelled at and threw a balled up sock at the tv when the Kings didn’t win the summer league championship, so there’s that… But, I don’t wallow in misery and generally have an optimistic perspective as a fan. Championships for my NFL and MLB teams taught me that the end result, although great doesn’t really affect your overall fandom that much.
