How much trade value does Brad Miller have?

Realistically what kind of a player could the Kings get for Brad Miller?

Here are the pertinent numbers:

Salaries over the next 4 season...9.6 mil, 10.5 mil, 11.4 mil, 12.3 mil

15/5/8 last year and 16/4/9 the previous year


Can you think of any teams that would be intersted in Brad?? Will we have to trade him for smaller 'tradeable' pieces a la the Webber Deal?? Is he worth more than expiring contracts in return?? Is Brad + KT/Corliss enough to bring back a player who could contribute to the Kings??

I personally dont think he would demand much interest from around the league
 
Of course he'll command interest -- there are next to no decent centers outr there. Particularly borderline playoff teams like Chicago, Indiana etc., in need of a center to take the next step, would take the call and maybe even have something interesting to offer the other way.

Is he going to attract the attention of an All-Star type guy? Probably not. That was always kind of flukey.
 
You can't answer this question until you see what is offered in return. How the heck can anyone answer this question unless you are a GM making an offer or two?!?!?

^^^ I wish it wouldn't happen! Always foul trouble. I'd rather have Chandler or 'Mr. Glass'. IF it's not going to happen, go for a big guy in the draft. THEN you guys can KEEP (it hurts) Miller.
 
I feel that with the personell that we have now, the Kings are more set to become an inside out team. Before, he fit in beautifully because his game complimented that of Webber and Divac (all big guys who could pass). However, these aren't the Kings of old.

Shareef, Bonzi and Artest all thrive on the block, and that kind of leaves Brad out in the cold because he's not a back to the basket player. However, I feel he can still be used effectively as a jump-shooter running off screens like a wingman. Or he can camp at the high post (or 3-pt. line), and receive kick-out passes from our main post guys when the double team comes. It will be interesting to see what happens this season with him though. If he doesn't fit in with the new style I think the Kings will play this year, he might be gone.
 
If you packaged Miller with a pick and perhaps Thomas we could get an all-star caliber player. By himself, no way.
 
What about Miller and Hart to the Wizards for Haywood and Daniels. Salaries work and Miller fits into the Wizards offense well. We'd be getting a defensive center and a backup PG. Ah, who knows if the Wizards would do that though....

No, Cavs like Big Z, and need his shotblocking anyway.

Its been mentioned before, but if we bring back Bonzi and Reef stays, then Brad Miller's OFFENSEIVE game is actually a pretty good fit for those guys because he stays out of their way on the block and provides spacing. The problem is the defense, rebounding, work ethic, playoff play and all of that stuff.
 
I like Anderson Varejao. He's a monster performer waiting to explode. And his passion for his team and his game is as good as Divac's. He needs improvement but he's a very promising player.
 
I like AV too, but with Gooden a FA and the Cavs signing Donyell Marshall they are going to keep him and probably start him.
 
If we keep Bonzi/Artest we are going to need Brad Miller, we just can't ask him to be our interior D, not going to happen. We need to find someone that can cover for his weaknesses.

Who would that be? I say trade Miller. He doesn't rebound worth a crap and he was a no-show in the playoffs. The only thing he has going for him is offense....well...sometimes.
 
Eddie Griffin/Magloire/Elson/Pryzbilla/Wright/Ely. 1 or 2 of those guys would help (hence why I included back-up-type guys).

Can you elaborate? Surely it can't be to hang around the 3-pt perimeter while they're down low, so what are you getting at? I like Brad but I don't see any need for him on this team anymore.
 
I agree with 113. I think the Kings would do fine in the interior D department with this rotation:

PF: Griffin/Magloire
C: Miller/Magloire

You'd have a shotblocker/rebounder and a decent shooter on the floor at all times.
 
I like Magloire a lot at the center position, but getting him might be like putting a bandaid on a gunshot wound. What I mean is, he would work for next season, but then his contract is up- and he's going to want tons of jack. From what I've read about him, he might go back to toronto, which is where hes from i guess. Getting him & keeping him would be sweet though!

About miller- he is seriously starting to look more and more like Raef Lafrentz all the time. I mean, he does one or two things really well, but doesn't really earn his fat check. He can set screens and hit a jump shot, BUT HES 7 FRICKIN FEET TALL! GET A REBOUND! Thats why Magloire or someone like him would be great for us. We don't need a 7 ft small forward who can't board, we need a 7 footer who can bang and rebound and block shots. And thats why Miller has worn out his welcome here in Sac. I love the guy, I think he would be a great change-of-pace bench player, but to be a starter at the center position you gotta get down low and rebound and do SOMETHING on the defensive end. Definitely move him while he still has value!

I would love hayword and daniels for miller and hart. But I dont think they would do it. they would literally be the worst defensive team in the history of the world... Hay is the only Defensive presence they have....
 
What about Miller and Hart for E. Thomas, Daniels, and a second round pick? Deep draft this year, second rounder might actually be useful this year...
 
It's pretty disappointing if you are relying on your center to stretch defenses, particularly in an era when zones are legal. It's not like he's going to draw the big man out of the key anymore. And his defense/effort is unacceptable. I think he should be traded to the Bulls for Chandler. They are going to have a shot at Aldridge/Thomas, so they don't need Chandler anymore. Chandler, under Larry Brown (cross fingers) could develop nicely.

Wow, this is the second thread i've seen that suggests we dip into the second round of the draft looking for talent. IMO, this is NOT a deep draft. I mean, this is the "gap" year of drafts. By that I mean 2005 high school seniors were allowed to make the jump to the NBA, but 2006 is the first year that they were not. Therefore, the 4 - 5 players like Greg Oden and Kevin Durant who were high school seniors this year are excluded from this draft and have to wait until 2007. Also, there are other very talented players like Josh McRoberts and Joakim Noah who would have been lottery picks for sure, but did not enter the draft. Anyway, to me, that makes this draft weak- players who would have been bubble 1st/2nd round picks get bumped up.

Also, you have to realize for every Manu Ginobili, gilbert arenas or kyle korveryou find in the second round there are 10 Ricky Minards- players who just don't pan out from the second round. Besides, I mean, theres always summer league and the chance to find a player that everyone missed on.

Completely agree. Its almost like because the draft order is not obvious people think that means its deep. A lot of second rounders are going to squeek into the first round and the guaranteed contracts that come with it.
