bobby jackson should be a free agent after this comming year right? didn't he also request a trade cuz he was tired of backing up bibby? what's his status and how long do we have him for?

No, he didn't request a trade. What he asked - BEFORE he was injured - was to be let out of the final year of his contract to test the free agency waters. He later rescinded that request and is very happy the Kings have exercised the team option for his final year.

so with jackson being able to excersise his options can't petrie try and pull a trade involving jackson and some garbage from our roster to get one solid player in the deal?

Huh?

Of course we can trade Bobby. Ending contract, still a real sparkplug when healthy. Now WILL we trade him? That's a different question.

precisely. all the more reason why it may be best to deal him now and get someone without giving up too many players?

I'm sure they're considering a trade with Bobby. Unfortunately, the downside is that he has been injured so much in the past couple of years that teams might be leery of getting him...

You're still confused about options, however. Bobby didn't have one. It was a team option for his final year. As far as combining him with "some garbage from our roster," there's the problem. All we have is really expensive garbage... I mean REALLY expensive garbage.

That's why losing the value of Cat's salary wasn't very smart, IMHO.

if bobby is traded, he will have his first injury free season.
