In the eyes of the Maloofs I'm not sure you can estimate the importance of this point. RELEVANT once again! It's a business and the team has to matter!

i hope indy doesnt boo peja, that would just be sad
they wont boo peja right away...they will cheer him...

but make no mistake...the pacers are in dire straits...they just traded the heart and soul of their basketball team...

whenever theyve been without ron, over the years, theyve been nothing more than a .500 ballclub....this season theyre under .500 without ron....

and peja isnt going to change that....

the fans are truly getting upset with what theyre seeing...i know u kings fans can relate....difference is, u just got ron, and u will love what u see from him on the court....unsurpassed effort and intensity-the things ur starving for...

we are starving for the same....and we just got peja friggen stojakovic....does anyone exemplify lack of effort and intensity on the court more than peja????

it could get ugly in indy....very, very ugly...

sactown will be ok now...it will take ron close to a month to get back into game shape, but even then, it will be like a breath of fresh air to most of u....

he is everything u kings fans have been dying for...

i know u guys...

u will love him for the same reasons i love him...

hehe...national spotlight is right. hopefully he brings enough positive attention on the court to negate the less-than-positive baggage he brings with him.

but you are right. the exposure is a plus for the maloofs. with artest, the kings are much closer to the balance in the starting unit i'm always harping on and on about. still a ways to go, but they are much closer than they were with peja, imo. here's to hoping petrie and the maloofs can assemble a winning team between now and next season! after that, let's hope it's enough to encourage further negotiations on the arena issue.

Especially when he was in LA enjoying a lakers game while his teamates are busting their butts on the court.

I have very mixed feelings about this trade.

First, I'm sad to see Stojakovic go, since I very much enjoyed watching him play for the Kings.

Second, I am glad a change is being made, and a rather dramatic one at that. I like patience, but at this point I think it was obvious something needed to happen, and bringing in a defensive player of the year is definitely something.

Third, I'm a little uneasy about Artest and how he'll fit into the offense. I don't know if it will be any smoother than it was earlier this year when everybody was healthy. I'm a little worried that without any other changes the Kings will have the same struggles to keep everybody (Artest included) happy on offense.

Fourth, did I mention Artest is a former defensive player of the year? Yeah, that's a good thing.

And last, this is a move with a lot of risk attached to it. While I think it was probably a good move, I'm a bit apprehensive about the next 2-3 years and the roller coaster that Artest and his personality will bring. A safer move would be easier on the heart.

Then again, I guess that's what makes this stuff fun.

None of the answers in the poll really describe my feelings about the trade, which are mixed. It's sad, mostly because I loved (as we all did) what the Kings were and this is just another step away from that. The other negative is the fear in the pit of my stomach concerning what Artest might do. I don't trust him, maybe I should give him a chance, but its a little difficult given the history. After that there is that exciting feeling about what Artest brings on the court which the Kings have sorely lacked. It's a big change but I can't tell whether it's for the better or not.

Don't like it.

Too many if when dealing with Ron Artest. He had been out for a very long time, mentally unstable, fitting in with RA coaching style and the team is a question mark. I'm crossing my finger and hoping he will help the Kings win but I still don't like the trade.

I wonder how big another possible negative may be. There are alot of european fans that only cared about the Kings because we had Peja, and previously Vlade as well. I don't know how much that contributed to the bottom line of the Kings, but it has to be some sort of impact.

In any event, I still think this is the right move for the Kings. If Artest can behave himself for at least the rest of this season, it opens up more possibilities. Even if Petrie decides he is not the right fit for our team during the offseason, if Artest played well and didn't make a mess, it could open up some trading possibilities for us. We could package him and a few other players for someone, trade up in the draft, etc.

The trade is what it is, it became a necessity to make a move, Both Peja and Artest are under paid by NBA standards based on their past performance. This was really the only way either team could make a player for player swap and get "equal" value. Personally I am not for or against the trade, I probably would not have done it, but I understand why it was done. I am not looking forward to rooting for Artest, because he is insane.

If you have ever seen an interview with him his eyes scare the hell out of me, they are so distant at all times, he answers questions that were not even asked. At minimum he is bi-polar at the worst he is schizophrenic, lets just hope he does not start hearing voices and turn into a paranoid schizophrenic and start hacking up players and fans.

As for his Hoops talent it is not in question, he is a better all around player than peja, but it really sucks knowing that we are trading the best pure shooter in the NBA right now, it sure has been fun seeing him knock down deep 3's and tough fade aways. I just wish some of those shots over the years had been clutch; if they had he probably would not be leaving.

Stephen A Smith is saying that people close to Artest are saying that Artest doesn't want to be in Sacramento, has no desire to be in sacramento.

I Will Miss Peja But

I am so excited about this trade. I think Peja would have left us anyway, (I know, I know, he said he would stay) to go to Chicago. Artest is tough, plays defense and can score too. I hope and pray though that he can control his emotions and not get into trouble. I"m excited again about the Kings and that feels awesome!!!!

Okay, two things:

Whoever said, how can Ron-Ron get in trouble in Sacramento better hope he doesn't hang out with Team Dime!

AND, whoever said maybe Brad will take him hunting has to think that Brad is seriously stupid or mental to go anywhere with Ron and stick a gun or a bow an arrow in his hand!

Other than that, I guess we just wait and see. Obviously, you had to ask "what has Peja done for me lately?" Just pray to whatever god you believe in that Artest can keep it together.

I can't even imagine the number of people that will be courtside and tv-side when he plays his first game as a KING!!! I wonder if that's why NBA TV has the Kings games for free this week?
