I'm happy to get Peja--the Pacers need some shooting/scoring. Do you think Petrie would like to have Jackson as well--we would give him for free. Peja is better than nothing--which is what RA was for the Pacers. So from the Pacers standpoint--its a good move.

Sacramento, Island of misfit toys. We seem willing to take just about anyone's psychotic trash. It worked out well with Webber, and appears to have done so with Bonzi. Third time the charm??

On another note:
Bye Peja. Thanks for all the great play and for being a positive addition to the city of Sacramento. You will be missed.

what? you want to give away s. jackson? what for? i thought he was fitting in nicely there. by the way, with jasikevicius and peja, the pacers become a very real outside threat. how that will affect the defensive intensity is another matter.

I AM SAD, but I understand. From a purely bball standpoint, it makes perfect sense and had to happen. From a heart standpoint - it stinks. I will miss Peja. I will welcome Artest, but I do not think that I will ever feel for for him what I felt for Peja (Doug, Chris, Vlade, etc). Here's to winning more games!
I wish Peja all the best!

Jackson is not well-liked here in Indy. Hasn't really added much other than a bad attitude. Wish we still had Al Harrington and Atlanta still had Jackson. Peja should get a lot of open looks with J.O. in the low post, which should be good for him. IMO, he is a better 2nd option, than being THE guy. I think its a good move for Pacers, and RISKY move for Kings.

Peja needs different digs. He can't thrive with the guys the Kings have. If Artest plays at 80% full attention he will give the Kings more than Peja has this year (and last).

One more trade. At least now what I've been wishing for all year will come to fruition. Martin or Garcia (preferrably Martin) will be packaged with Rahim or the Philly 3 and the Kings will get someone bigger than what we got.

Oh yeah. I like it.
Not good. For once we need to have youth on this team. I think KT and perhaps Corliss, whos hardly used here with a draft pick.

Whoever compared the stats...they're totally non-transferable. The difference is that he will hardly have any competition for boards here (unlike in Indy), and will probably double his average by the end of the year.

To boot, we got rid of the Disappearing Man, who has been showing a downward trend of getting pesky injuries that pepper him throughout the season, and added a guy who will contest, steal, block, and scare the crap out of you.

I dig it. Welcome, Ron. Adios, Peja.

Now...who thinks Adelman can actually handle Ron?

adelman can't handle ron. there are very few coaches who can. i imagine pop could, and sloan definitely, but those are your rare breed of hard-asses. the point, i think, is not about whether adelman will be able to control artest (who is uncontrollable), but whether he'll be able to get artest to buy into his system or not.

consequently, adelman will likely be the next king to fall, i believe. peja for artest, at this juncture of the season, is a bold move. it shows petrie does in fact have that ironclad set of balls that many of us were doubting. i don't think he'll be moving either miller or bibby antime soon, and rahim will likely stick around for a bit, too. he still has time to tweak the bench if he wants to...*cough*flexiblecontracts*cough*...but i foresee no other major moves. artest is a big enough risk on his own.

Do I like that trade? I honestly don't know. I felt so sad to see Peja go, especially after reading the article in the Bee saying that he'd like to retire here. Ugh, I knew it was bad luck to say that!

Seriously, Peja is one of the last pieces of the Kings that gave us some incredible years. It's sad to see him go...

And Artest, is well, Artest. I guess to put a positive spin on it, I don't think we'll be bored.
That was PR...i knew peja was gone when i read that.

I think that those guys would have a harder time with Artest. He would rebel against their control. I actually think that rick may be just the man for the job. The real question is whether or not he is her NEXT season.

RA will like playing for the Kings--he will get more freedom. He didn't like that here in Indy--he wanted to be shooting and have the ball in his hands more. He fancies himself a point forward, but one who likes to shoot first, second, and third. He is an enigma, but should be a better fit in the Kings system than he was here.

wow. just wow. my chest is visibly straining from this news; i haven't had a reaction like this all season.

i'm praying that the team doesn't implode. cuz my head very well might go along with it.

welcome artest!

So its Webber and Peja for Thomas, Skinner, Williamson and Artest. Anyone else feel mugged.
only in the webber trade. peja for artest straight up is another petrie steal. i mean, honestly, we traded a shooter for the textbook nba renaissance man. artest can get the job done on both ends of the floor, and he does it with some serious fire. peja is on the decline, posting stats that threaten to challenge his rookie season's stats for career lows. his rebounding has improved of late, and even i can appreciate that, but i think most of us can agree that peja has not performed up to expectations the last two seasons.

now, artest may very well be a wildcard, but it feels like an ace in the hole if ya ask me.

Wow. This is Artest, not the second coming of Jesus. I do hope we make the playoffs ofcourse, but that is very optimistic.

i am horrified and pretty much sick to my stomach....

i had resigned myself to the fact he would be traded...and it wouldnt be pretty...

but in my worst nitemares it would never be for peja....

i wouldve rather had devean george and a 2nd rounder than peja...

a draft pick, even if not in the lottery, other than peja...

my only hope now is that the pacers will trade peja again before the deadline...

the kings just got so much better, u guys have no clue.....

my only concern is how JO might be poisoning the mind of bonzi wells....

but then again, i have a feeling bonzi is gone at the end of the season anyway....

i'm sorry, man. from the bottom of my heart, i am. it's tough as a sports fan to see amazing talent traded for what appears to be less than amazing talent.

i honestly think a change of scenery will do peja stojakovic good. you guys didn't get value for artest, imo, but you knew you weren't gonna get value from the start. so, here's to hoping peja has a career revival in indy! :) would you at least drink to that?!
