Another win, another thrilling game.

All I have to say is. WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

and that 90+ foot pass..

wow that was incredible!

yeah man my heart almost stop beating when the lakers have the ball and the clock on their side! but good win!!!

I kept thinking the Kings were going to lose up until the last minute. I was telling myself that it was a good game anyway!

some things never change..... refs still love the lakers.... kings still let the lakers shoot wide open 3's....

haha...ditto...i think my heart did stop beating....then my stomach started churnin....but hey that's what u get when the kings and lakers play :)

Gargamel, perhaps you can explain this logic to me:
If Christie's foul was intentional, how come Cook's foul on Pedja was not clear path foul ??? (which would give the Kings an extra free throw)

No, seriously. What was wrong with the refs?
- Rush fouling Jackson for the lose ball and getting a no call.
- Brad Miller getting his 5th foul called on him when he clearly had positioning on the rebound.
- Flagrant foul on Doug Christie with 52 seconds left or so, which almost decided the game.
- Peja not getting a clear path call when Cook fouled him form behind.

All this within the last few minutes of the game or so.

All losses suck, especially when they're basically blown wins.

What was wrong with the refs? They couldn't have been too bad. LA had 3 starters in foul trouble. I didn't think there were any particularly egregious calls going either way.
1. The no call foul on Kareem Rush when Bobby Jackson had a sure basket.

2. I counted two pretty questionable fouls on Brad in that 4th quarter.

3. The so - called flagrant foul on Doug.

I thought the game was called pretty even in terms of fouls, but there were some potential game turning brain freezes by the refs in that fourth quarter.

i understand the christie foul... but the rush "non foul" on jackson was just wrong.

Sorry xrzn, I must of been in the middle of my post while you were doing yours.

I don't know if LA was outta fouls at the end (making a clear path issue moot), but Peja did shoot 2 free throws on that play.

I thought Christie's foul was borderline flagrant if not legit. I think the refs made the determination based on his stance and his balled fists up around the neck area.
Pedja would have had an additional free throw that you get if it is a clear path foul. Check the rules. The refs know them, but they didn't call that.

What's wrong with the refs? They are outrageously outnumbered. If the NBA somehow finds a way to add 2 more refs for a total of 5 refs, there wouldn't be as much blown calls.

How am I trolling? I gave congrats for the win. I'm wondering why there's issues with the refs because I didn't see too much going on in that dep't for a change.
Here's a hint: Usually when you win you don't see much wrong with refereeing, but if you don't see it when you lost, that definitely means that they were helping you out.

Any calls against your team in the heat of the battle will seem questionable. Since I am a Kings fan, I thought that few calls in 4th qtr were bad calls (especially Rush's foul on Bobby - not as much for a no call but cnsidering that Kobe made a 3pt because of it was what made the foul even worse).

As for clear path foul, correct me if I'm wrong, Peja would have to shoot one FT and we would get the ball on the side. The reason it was not called was because Peja didn't have a full control of the ball at the time. Considering the tempo of the game at the time and that Peja was hot from FT I would rather take 2 FT, than 1 sure basket and a chance to loose the ball.

Gargamel - Are you going to honestly tell me, when we're both long-time fans of the NBA, that ALL the calls Bennet Salvatore made against the Kings were on point?

That flagrant foul call on Doug was ludicrous. Foul? Certainly. Flagrant? Not on your life. Calling it at that point in the game, after the HORRIBLE non-call on Atkins (?), who clearly was intentionally fouling Bobby to prevent him from the breakaway bucket, was more than ludicrous. It was unconscionable. Had that occurred against the Lakers in ARCO, Laker fans would be gathering pitchforks and torches...

Please. I respect your opinions but I cannot believe you will argue those two particular calls.

With the team being in bonus, Pedja would get 1 shot (because it is clear path foul), and then 2 more for a regular foul. And when the foul got called Pedja was clearly ahead of Cook, and the ball was ahead of Pedja well within his reach with Pedja having all the momentum of going forward. No question: clear path foul.

I won't continue to argue the point. We will simply agree to disagree.

Bottom line for me, and I said so in the PBP thread, is that at least two officials were calling the game preferentially. One for the Lakers, and - perhaps as make-up - one for the Kings. Yes, there were some calls that went against the Lakers that probably shouldn't have been made either and I'm sure those are being screamed about on your Lakers board.

Regardless of the officials, regardless of the crowd, regardless of the Lakers, the Kings won in Staples tonight - and apparently, from the reactions of the crowd, there is still some sort of rivalry.

The Dec. 16 game in our house should be interesting!

GO KINGS!!
