The 2009-10 NBA season was less than successful in terms of wins and losses for the Sacramento Kings, a franchise that won at least 50 games in five straight seasons to begin the decade. Last year the Kings won only 25 games, but it wasn't a total loss for the Sacramento faithful.

If he weren't playing along side Beno in the starting lineup, I'm sure he would be referred to as a PG. However, when you are guarded by the other team's SG, and you guard the other team's SG ... what do you expect? If they start Garcia next to him this year, then he will be called a PG.

At this point, I don't care what they call him, as long as he's called "ours." ;)

If Evans was 3 inches shorter, everyone would call him a PG.
It doesn't annoy me too much that other ppl call Evans a SG, but it annoys me VERY MUCH when Kings fans themselves call Evans a SG.

Like keflanag said, I'm sure it has to be because Udrih starts next to him, and Udrih is listed as a PG. I don't think it has anything to do with his height. Everyone refers to Magic and Penny as PG's, and they were both taller than Tyreke. As a side note, I love how I can call the 3 of them by their first name and everyone (not just Kings fans) knows who I'm talking about :D. Although I guess Magic and Penny are only nicknames..

"Greene's less than stellar defense"? He could be our best perimeter defender as of now... It's definitely not all-defense, but he definitely is a good defender.

Thought the article was spot-on. Greene is one of the weaker defenders, an area where Omri is much stronger. Also he is not a good enough ball handler as evidenced by his dribbling too much for a 6-11 guy. The bench led by Garcia has a long way to go but should have bouts of magnificence in their learning process, just not too many for awhile. Jeter and a strong outside shooter will help.

Is my sarcasm meter broken? Please explain, or I will be forced to unleash the dogs.

Not a bad assessment of our team. A young club with a lot of potential and 2 possible allstars in the near future. Our bench looks VERY strong and the trade for Dalembert is an addition by subtraction because Hawes killed us with his poor defensive play. All in all, the author was neither overly confident about the Kings nor was he bashing them. a 40 win season would be great for this year and then let Petrie fill in the holes with the cap room they have. Agree with The Hammer, the assessment of Greene must have been old info from his first season. Greene's defense has gotten a lot better and his ball handling has gotten better too.

Yea, I picked up on that too. I thought Green, near the end of the season last season was our best perimeter defender at least on 3's and stretch 4's. That Hoopsworld article seems to be based on 2008/09 Donte Greene. You would think they would do some research, but you have to remember what site this came from (Hoopsworld). Known more for rumor than accuracy... Other than that, I think the rest of the article is based in reality, and in truth I would love to see the next step of winning 40 games and either just missing playoffs or a 1st round lesson. I want to see Boogie and Reke together trying to scratch and claw their way to wins !!! Throw in Casspi, Garcia, Landry, and (insert Vet 2 guard shooter here) we are all set !!

SynergySportsTech.com rated, based on 2009-10 actual performances, Omri, Tyreke and JT three of the top 25 isolation (perimeter) defenders in the NBA. Omri I believe was rated in top 5. Hard to argue actual data.

That depends if you have no idea how the data was collected and it clashes directly with what you have seen with your own eyes. I need sample size and detailed methodology on some mysterious stat like that. Not to mention the normal issues -- its very possible that Kevin Martin could look like a better statistical defender than John Salmons on nights because Kevin was hidden on the weaker offensive player while John took the stronger one, and because help shaded more toward Kevin than it did John.

If someone walks up to me tommorow and tells me the sky is pink and purple polka dotted I would look up, confirm its continued blueness, and question his/her sanity until they showed me exactly how they reached their conclusion.
