I'm watching People's Court on Ch. 31 and during the last commercial I heard chants of "SAC-RA-MEN-TO" coming from my TV. I looked up and there's a message urging people to save our team, with a new arena and new owners. It's a push to get people to hit the 10,000 mark on the season-ticket pledges. GREAT TO SEE! Looks like it was sponsored by "herewebuy.org" and, I suspect, a couple of very loyal local businesses.

EDIT: Here's the text of the ad copy - "It comes down to this, Sacramento. We’ve got the ball with time for one last shot. We need ten thousand Kings fans to pledge to buy season tickets in a new downtown arena with new ownership. We’re so close. And this just might seal the deal. This is our last shot. Let’s make it our best."

Nice! On the radio on 1140 today there were a few folks who called in to say they hadn't re-upped yet but were planning to. There is still some untapped demand out there.

Yes I'm sure there are some current season ticket holders who are not watching their twitter all the time... who might not be tuned in to all this. I just emailed my main season ticket partner to remind him. Now that's only 2 tix, but it is two closer to 10,000.

I'm a former season ticket holder that will be jumping back on board with this new ownership group! I will be pledging on the herewebuy site today. Hopefully we can get this thing to over 10K today!

And remember, if you're going to the game tonight you can stop by the Shell gas station in Natomas (I don't know the address) from 3 to 6:30 p.m. and sign up as well.

The tally at www.herewebuy.org now stands at 9,045.

I checked the site out. There is no deposit, no CC info taken. It's basically a petition signing. I mean, anyone can sign up, regardless of their actual intent to buy season tickets.

It's kind of an honor system thing. As the form states, "By filling out the request form below you agree to purchase season tickets at one of the three price points listed. These prices are approximate to what costs will be at a NEW arena. Although you are not bound by anything but your word, upon completion of any future arena deal, you may be contacted to reserve your seats to be a witness to the new era of professional basketball in Sacramento."

BTW? The tally is now 9117.

Mike and Crown Downtown have signed up over 150 pledges at the Shell station this afternoon. Those pledges will not be added in to the total until probably tomorrow. Total now is 9181 - with a little more than three days to go. This is looking very, very good!

Great! Though I would suggest those involved with the drive to continue to push push push and get up to 15K or even 20K. We know that there will be a lot that can't pay up when it comes time to commit with money and the league knows how these things go. So it would look a lot better if you have a waiting list of say 5k after the initial 10K list. That makes it look a lot stronger and more realistic.
