heat inquiring about Artest and Bibby

It would be nice to see Bibby and JWill on the same team. I always wanted to know whose defense is worse ?

Come on, piksi. That's like asking which can fly higher - an elephant or a hippopotamus.

If indeed Miami is interested in both Artest and Bibby....

Sacramento outgoing:
Mike Bibby
Ron Artest
Kenny Thomas
Quincy Douby

Sacramento incoming:
Antoine Walker
Jason Williams
Udonis Haslem
Michael Doleac

Works on RealGM.

Why Miami does it:
Haslem is the only piece Miami might be sorry to lose, but they get their PG, SF, and a kid whose potential is still unknown. They'll still need a partner for Wayne Simien at the PF position, but considering Shaq/Mourning/Artest is the rest of their frontcourt, they just need someone to hustle and stay out the the way. Miami's starting lineup becomes:
Bibby - Wade - Artest - some PF - Shaq. How can you argue with that?

Why we do it:
Kings save $20 MILLION over the next three years. Doleac and J-Will are expiring contracts. Haslem is a rebounder and good roleplayer. I know, I always said I'd burn down a convent before having Antoine Walker on the team, but at least his contract runs out a year before Kenny Thomas'. If Miami likes this package enough maybe we can even get them to throw in a draft pick.

The down side is that it's an undeniable talent drain. But let's be honest, you're not going to get "fair value" for pieces like Artest and K9. The trade does solve some of our most discussed problems and clears salary for next year. It also signals full-blown rebuilding mode, and guarantees (moreso) that we will suck enough this year to get a high draft pick.
Our lineup:
J-Will - Martin - Salmons - Haslem? - Miller
Bench: Garcia, Hawes, Walker, Abdur-Rahim, Doleac, and hopefully Price and Justin Williams

Uh...no thanks. No thanks...and no thanks 1000 times over. Stick with our own crap thanks.

Mimai might be a place to liquidate ONE of those two contracts, but it has to be on our teams to make it worthwhile, and frankly after they gave away a guy we could have used wiht their draftpick, I'm not even sure if they have naything we can really really use. Its just Wright now. Haslem sucks. He's a 1" taller Kenny Thomas who is just disguised as such because he plays next to monester centers. Want no part of him. Antoine Walker can go take a leap as far as I am concerned. Pretty much wihtout that pick they have Jwill and Doleac's enders, and they have Wright, who does interest me. Could also try to ge a future pick.

But anything more than enders, Wright and picks is just flat out. Thomas/Reef/Brad/Salmons have the real long term crappers. Mike and Ron could both opt out next year and be gone anyway. We certainly don't want to be taking back on LONGER salaries, and for lesser player.

I would have to agree with Brick, that trade makes me

As long as we get back Wright and maybe a future pick then I'll be happy. Unless we take back Walker, in which case I'll bang my head against a wall. BTW, Walkers contract is a year longer than KTs, according to RealGM.

I agree with you here Brick, Both Ron and Bibby would be hard to do with Miami. But I think my trade with Ron and Kenny (see page 1) might work. But i understand you don't want Haslem, so I modified the trade for all enders.

Have Miami throw in a draft pic (maybe 2nd rounder they got from Orlando)for next year
Start shopping Bibby for a Big PF
Use next year draft/FA for PG

Do you think Riley would really go for that? He gets artest but gets a bad contract, loses a pick, and uses up his expirings

To be honest, I don't like my proposed trade, either... but in a world where Petrie trades Webber for "flexible pieces" it's probably more likely than anything we're hoping for.

The thing I hate about that is losing Bibby for nothing... we can get value for him and he's wasted in that. I like jkbikers scenario, of course the caveat there is that because it's more favorable to us it's less likely to be agreed to.

Barring a trade with the Knicks for David Lee, that is the only other realistic scenario (at this point) for Artest that makes it worth the trade. Wright has plenty of potential and we get out from under KT's contract and attitude.

From Riley's perspective he would have to be somewhat confident that Artest is the piece they need to help get them back in the finals. Otherwise giving up those enders (which he could turn into a decent FA next year), the potential of D. Wright, and the burden of KT's contract makes him say no.

Looks great from the opposing teams bench.

Yes, but it also looks good for a top 3 pick.
