HB IS BACK

I honestly dont get the anger about HB's deal. He is a very productive player, and this is relatively low dollar amount compared to how he is valued in the league. He is also THE leader in the locker room with many gravitating to him as expressed by Kings staff and media members. He is the professional you want your young guys to look to. Is productive on the court. Doesnt put up bad shots, plays adequate defensive, and is the most efficient player we have. No to mention was our main cutting target for both fox and sabonis. And look at where other contracts have been to see what his value truly is. We treat him like a pack of gum around here.

+bazillion, not least the last sentence.

Uh huh. I’m sure that you didn’t. But yet still felt the need to reply just to claim you didn’t all while working in belittling comments. Well done. That sure seems like the epitome of “relaxed”.

No worries, I get it. It’s far easier to backpedal and retreat and position the other person as argumentative, emotional, and overreactive when pushed to defend unsubstantiated hot takes. I’ve seen that deflection tactic many, many times before and it certainly won’t be the last time.

I’m eagerly looking forward to your next hot take complaint that isn’t really a big deal to you once challenged by someone to defend it.

And I promise not to be one that responds then supports their position with solid reasoning and supporting evidence because I now know you are unable to do the same and will just consider that action as argumentative and skip right past it.

Duly noted.
What hot takes? That I’m not confident we make it out of the first round next season? How is that a hot take and what reasoning do you need? We saw what our issues were last season. So far those issues haven’t been addressed. If we address those issues, still time, then my opinion may change. You’re going wayyyyyy too hard at this.

Exhibit #4827 why it’s good practice to allow the dust to settle before overreacting.

HB is better and more proven than many on that list. But retained for far less.

Is he KD or Siakim or Mikal Bridges? No. Is he remotely close to a superstar? No.

But considering that the KINGS weren’t in a position to acquire a player like that, HB is about as good as it gets.

He’s an above average TWO-WAY player. Those aren’t always easy to collect either. And, perhaps just as importantly to go along with all that, he’s a phenomenal locker room presence and chemistry fit.

Thanks the basketball gods Monte McNair recognized that and avoided the albatross known as Kyle Kuzma. So freaking happy about that. I was getting nervous with all the recent rumors.

You’re 100% right. It’s largely unwarranted.

Look, we all know HB has warts. Every player on the KINGS does. There’s no perfect player.

However, despite HB’s warts, he checks so many positive boxes that the outrage and hate is just crazy talk. It really is.

I get it. We’d all love a starting lineup of perennial all-stars. But fans would serve themselves well by being more realistic. Cause that ain’t gonna happen any time soon.

And HB is a better all-around player and fit than many of the names others were lobbying for. And he’s turned out to be the cheaper, more pragmatic option.

That’s a big win for the KINGS.
