Who are you referring to?

It's a legit concern about him ever being that number 2 guy we need. He was a extremely high pick not some 2nd round flyer. There are legit concerns to his game. Murray will never suck that's for sure. But he's very hard to read right now as far as potential
we have a number two guy already and his name is Demar Derozan

Kawhi was still averaging 12 points in his third season and the 4th or fifth option on his team. Guys develop different. Also were like not even 20% into the season yet so it feels sorta dumb to act like Keegan is never going to be good on offense again.
he’s also slumped three years in a row on offense during this part of the season. Two is likely a coincidence but three? Would be great to get to the bottom of it. Or maybe it’s nothing and it’s just the way a long season can go sometimes

I actually don't think so at all. Keegan's developed as a legit multi-positional defender that takes the toughest assignment on a nightly basis, has improved as a rebounder and has slowly started to add an on-ball scoring package. But his game has been predicated on his elite shooting; with all this other stuff added, that's how he becomes a star.

He's not a Franz/J-Dub player. His comps are closer to Klay/MPJ. MPJ with defense would be a pretty great outcome for him. But for him to be that max level player, he's just got to be a 38%+ 3pt shooter. And I don't think a bad 10-game slump throws out him being a historically great shooter through his first 2 seasons (2nd in 3PM, 3rd in 3p%) among the guys in the top 10.

I'd agree except it wasn't just one or two games. His offense has been inconsistent even last year. It's probably just more glaring these past 2 games since Sabonis and Derozan are out and he didn't really step up to the plate. Good thing he's still doing the other things on the defensive end, so there's that.
All this over Murray, but nary a mention of Kevin Huerter — who when his shot isn’t falling doesn’t contribute near as much Keegan.

Take tonight for example. The KINGS shot 20-46 from three despite Huerter being 1-10. He was 4-15 overall. You think that mattered in a 1- point game?

Murray was 3-9 and 1-3 from 3. His lack of offense didn’t hurt near as much as the guy jacking up 10 threes when he isn’t hitting them.

Steve Nash was a backup to start his career in Pohoenis, turned into an okay starter with the Mavs, and then turned into a superstar in his thirties with the Suns again.
Who was famously being dumped by Mark Cuban for not believing him have what it takes to play next to Dirk.

Yet we are here thinking Keegan is just what we see now. As an introvert turn extrovert myself I just feel more passionate to defend the guy.

I love MPJs game. He shoots with no hesitate and his shot is wet. He has a killer instinct as well. He's honestly what I hoped Murray would be. I just don't know if it's possible. But I hope I'm wrong. His defense is better than I expected so that is a plus for me

Well this one hurts and it sucks as fans we have to wait three days to play again and we get to go up against a team we haven’t matched up well with when we get back on Friday.

silver lining might be that maybe Keon’s confidence returns? Fox mandated 25 paint touches hopefully stays? Keegan maybe has time to come back home for a quick visit? Our depth might have earned Brown’s trust some?

I agree, Huerter was also pretty bad. I think we just expected a lot more from Murray which is why we're disappointed.

Honestly I think Keegan totally got what it takes to be MPJ-like. I just wouldn't want him to give up defense completely and be a cone like MPJ at this point.

People have already wrote off hurter. And his expectations are way lower than our 1st round lottery pick. High expectations are good

is this about Keegan?? Because he had an elite rookie year, followed by a sophomore slump, and we’re 14 games into year 3. that’s 1.17 bad years. I’m super unhappy about his progression but please try to stay in reality.

You know who I'm disappointed with most this season. Mike Brown!

How Keon isn't starting to start the season was one of the biggest mistakes I've seen in a long time. And these starting lineups with these injuries are terrible.

Lastly why is Len still getting minutes. Are there no good backup centers anymore?

You can expect more, but when Fox is looking for his own offense as much as he is recently AND Keon Ellis is on a heater — what are you really expecting Keegan to do offensively? Force shots? Or keep jacking up shots when they aren’t falling as Huerter did?

At least Keegan doesn’t get selfish and shoot his team out of games. And unlike some players, he’s putting out a lot of effort in on defense. In what way is that disappointing?

Huerter, Lyles and a few others were in an extended slump at some point but kept trying on what they are good at and got that slump out of their system. Just look at Murray’s attempts to score, he seems like he is not even trying to score. It’s not just the last few games. Offensive disappearing act with no apparent reason is becoming a norm for him.

JJ Redick
First 7 seasons (age 22-28): 9.4/1.8/2.0 on 43/39/88 shooting. Averaged 22 minutes per game, started in 54/424 games
Past 7 seasons (age 29-36): 16.3/2.3/2.0 on 46/43/90 shooting. Averaged 29 minutes per game, started in 434/472 games

Literally, the league changed into fitting his style of play.

But we should give up Keegan now...

It's not called forcing shots when your expected to be a star. Brown gave him the green light. He needs to put up shots. He's tall, he's not getting blocked he needs to fire those 3s. He's not getting double teamed. Shoot the ball!

Thank-you. It's the attempts and shooting quality not that he's missing. It's that he's inconsistent even with his shooting attempts. Shoot the ball!

I know a lot of us are down on keegan right now, but that being said there's still hope for him to improve. We're not totally writing him off like many are suggesting.
