How about we let him play, say, at least one NBA regular-season game against good competition before we declare him the second coming?
Watching Harry Giles in Summer League, I can see why Vlade may have slipped and said Giles could play some Small Forward.
His handles is pretty good and his passing and court vision is better than a lot of small forwards in the league. He also has enough lateral quickness to guard most small forwards.
If he can sharpen up his outside and 3 point shooting, he may be able to play the 3, 4, and 5 in time.
If the Kings go big, they would be a hard matchup and difficult to handle:
PF: Bagley
SF: Giles
C: WCS
SG: Bogdan
PG: Fox
I can't see it honestly.

I can't see it honestly. He just feels like a PF through and through. He's not quite agile enough for it as, lets say, a Giannis or Durant.
Vince Carter alluded on the last Summer League game broadcast that Giles does not have the typical wide body of a power forward. VC said that Giles has pretty narrow shoulders (which is more typical of a small forwards body) but he is still able to carve out space in the post. His legs appeared bigger and more stout, because of the leg wraps that he was wearing in SL.
Factor in his body type is a little narrow and that he has tested out at P3 with having superior Small Forward lateral quickness, I think Giles can play some minutes at small forward. Giles also has excellent passing ability and can handle the ball a little.
I'm not saying Giles can become a full time small forward, but when the Kings want to go big and they have two superior ball handlers on the floor at the guards (i.e. Fox and Bogdan), I think he can play some minutes at SF.
I think he would have a better chance of defending and putting a body and muscling up on big small forwards like LeBron James (Lakers) and Kawahi Leonard (Spurs) than say Bogdan or Justin Jackson.
Dear God I’m having Webber flashbacks. The good kind
You know what strikes me? He doesn't complain about the officiating. He's says he was just playing hard and having a little too much fun. He says the ref made the right call. He apologizes to his teammates. I loved Demarcus Cousins and made infinite excuses for him over the years. Harry Giles doesn't need anyone to make excuses for him. It's kinda nice.
Giles pretty quickly is taking up the mantle of team leader. I've just been really impressed how he handles himself on and off the court. Getting all the interviews, handling himself super well, showing he's healthy, showing his love for Sac, saying all the right things, going to bat for the Kings players, leaving it out there on the court. Don't know if he's going to be our best player down the road in 3 years, but he certainly might be our most important one.
Because he’s too slow for some of the athletic bigs in today’s NBA.Why don’t we play fox at center while we’re at it
Did he say, or insinuate something, negative about Mason?Giles has a lot of skills. He plays hard and does not complain. He can become a rebounding machine. It is telling that he has grown tired of playing with Mason at the point. Wait until he gets passes from Bogdan, Fox and Buddy.

To the debate about Giles spending time as a perimeter player (at the 3), I really feel that the guard-like skill that he possesses serves him better as a bigman with a unique skill set, rather than a perimeter player who can occupy the low post. In other words, as for offensive sets, I want Giles primarily catching the ball in the low to high post, or, to use this flexibility to make the decision to roll to the basket or pop out after setting a screen. This also gives him the unique ability of a bigman to start the break after getting a rebound. I have little to no interest in starting him next to two other bigs.
