Hansen behind STOP $$$

Like isnt all of this over??? So what if a group of people get signatures or whatever else? At this point I believe its definite that the kings are staying in sacramento... wtf??? Please clarify.i visit this site for all of my kings updates.

Well as long as we build the New Arena on time it's good. Hansen was trying to muck with our process. After this though I definitely think it's a done deal.

I wouldn't have expected it either.. his interviews after the sale to the Ranadive group made me feel as if he was a moral guy who felt compassion for Kings fans.. lol what a slimeball. Stooping to this level tells me that he thought expansion and relocation (sans Kings) was not going to be in the immediate cards.. It will be easier for teams to stay in the black due to the increased sharing, relocation will happen less and he knows this as well as the opposition amongst the board for further expansion.

Complete BS......

Hansen says he regrets giving the money to sac petition drive, and will not give any more.

Hansen:Faced with ... seeing our transaction fail& losing our $30 million deposit, I engaged Loeb & Loeb to canvas various opposition groups

NOTHING is over until the arena is built. David Stern made it abundantly clear that if the arena is not built, the sale of the Kings to Ranadive could be negated and the team would be sold to another buyer with an arena suitable for the needs of the NBA. That's why what Hansen attempted to do is so egregious. He wanted to sabotage the arena so he could be first in line to pick up the pieces.

The only thing that could be even more devastating to Hansen is if it turns out he is involved in some way with the owners of Macy's who are dragging their feet about selling their property to Ranadive. That would be the final nail in his coffin - and I'm not sure it's not a possibility.

When was the money put up by Hansen? June 21st or something close to that?

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. The filings that weren't filed was for the time period through June 30th. If he had the patience to wait just twelve days or so, the contribution wouldn't have had to be filed until the damage had been done. I'm glad I'm not his client.

He's obviously willing to pull out all of the stops. I wouldn't be surprised at all at this point if he was helping the New York firm drag its feet. I'm just not sure exactly how he would go about that. Can he just give them cash to refuse to sell the land? And if so, is there anything to prevent it? What are the legal implications in that circumstance? (Help, Brick!) I know the City has eminent domain in its back pocket, though.

At some point, "tampering" comes into play, both as far as the election process is concerned and in the NBA dealings situation. Not sure where the line is, but I'm guessing Hansen's toes are right there real close.

I wonder if Hansen took the hit to try to protect others involved (Maloofs/Balmer) in hopes that the investigation will stop. Hopefully we get FPCC Finishes this and finds out what really went down. I'm not going to believe Hansen that it was just him behind it.

If he's involved with the Macy slowdown, the heels are closer than the toes with the line behind them.

I thought the battle ended with Ranadive's purchase? what battle?

He did it back in June, so I guess he's saying that at that time, the recent BOG committee vote that he had lost robbed him of the common sense and human decency with which he would normally comport himself. Sure, that's it. Would he have felt bad about it if he hadn't gotten caught?

One would have to think that Hansen just sealed his own fate of ever owning an NBA team.

What NBA owner would want someone who tried to sabotage another teams efforts to get a new arena done. A new arena that the NBA had worked hard to help make happen. This type of underhanded dealing will not be taken lightly by the BOG. I'm sure Hansen is taking the fall for Ballmer and I'm sure he probably had Ballmer's blessings on this, but Hansen is going to protect the "real money" behind their failed bid for the kings.

If NBA owners are already crying foul about the Nets owners alleged backdoor deals for AK47, what do you think Hansen and Ballmer would be capable of, if they were actually owners?

I personally would doubt he's behind Maceys... with a donation you at least have several channels to try to hide the links, how can he hide outbidding for a property? I have little understanding of the complexities here though, so that is a novice take

Probably not too complex. He could have contacted US Bank or C-III and bid higher than the Kings by say 5 million. He has a right to bid for property. So they probably went back to the Kings and said they had another offer and asked them to match or beat. I don't have facts, but is it really a stretch to think he would do that? I mean if his plan was to torpedo the arena deal any way he could, this would be right in line with what he did on the donation.

Hansen has proved himself to be lying scumbag. He donated this money after he already lost the battle, so he should have been over the "heat of battle."

Well, Hansen, Sacramento's going to win the war. Screw you.

I was at City Hall watching the NBA Lottery with the Mayor and a few of his staff members. Bill Simons was talking about the Seattle/Sac deal and he said "It's all about being on David Stern's good side. You don't want to upset the commissioner in this league." KJ turned to the screen "That's right! You sure don't!"

Seattle has money. We have KJ.

It is possible to buy up property and not have your name directly tied. Back in the 60's Walt Disney bought up all the Florida property that would become Disney World using dummy corporations. His goal was to keep his interest quiet so that his well known interest wouldn't drive the price up. Same idea here, only in reverse. Hansen would be driving up the price and tying up the construction schedule. He never truly intends on buying, just creating delays.

If he's behind it I suspect it will quickly "become" available, due to his press release of no further involvement and how fallible he has to know he is after what went down

If the Maloofs have no involvement in this, which it seems at this point, they have to like that their stink has now mostly moved onto Hansen. Now they can go sell their Vodka in peace and blow their money.

funny how that happens lol.. for some reason I don't hate the Maloofs as much as I did 3 days ago

I would assume that if the Kings ownership group can show financial damages as a result of Hansen's actions, they would have grounds for a legal suit. If not the Kings, then perhaps the city of sacramento. Just wondering....
