Griffin at the 3?

I was watching and listening to last night's game (Nuggets v Kings) and I seem to remember Grant or one of the House Party Live people talking about the possibility of Blake Griffin, if the Kings get to draft him playing the 3? Did anyone else hear that? Is that even realistic? Can he shoot well enough to play the 3? If he does play the 3, the Kings will then have a monster low-post presence with JT, Hawes, and Griffin on the floor all the time.
 
I think that would be a bad idea defensively. Small forwards need to be able to extend and guard the 3 point line, and that would take away one of Griffin's biggest strengths, his rebounding. Can you picture Griffin guarding Paul Pierce, or Stephen Jackson, or even Vladimir Radmanovic. They would eat him up defensively, and the interior would still be open to cutters and offensive rebounders. He is a power forward...If the Kings get him (and keep him), then he starts at the 4 spot, and Jason Thompson is the bench 4/5 man subbing for Hawes or Griffin.
 
I think Griffin Thompson and Hawes can all co-exhist. Thompson would be perfect off the bench because he can play Center and Power Forward. Our rebounding would be nuts. Griffins pretty Atheltic. We might as well give Griffin a chance if we can get him and if it dont work out just trade him. Griffin may be able to play sum 3 if we are in a 2-3 zone defense. we would have three pretty athletic bigs guarding the paint.

What is it about Kings fans that makes them want to play perfectly good players out of position?

If Grant Napear mentioned Griffin as a possible three, he's just goofy. Griffin isn't a three and trying to force him to be one has "stupid" written all over it in very big, bold letters.
 
Griffin has better ball handling skills and agility on the floor than you might think. He would be impossible to guard in the low post by most 3s in the league. A Griffin / JT / Hawes front line could work because JT and Hawes can play high post and away from the basket.

I am still really interested to see how he measures out. I am guess 6'8" 3/4.

Disagree. He's a low post player. A player of his caliber can always play spot minutes at a second position. Much in the same way Dwight Howard is a '5' but could certainly play '4'. A player with the size and strength of Griffin would not be outmatched against most 3s in the league. He has the skills to compete at high level.
 
thompson at the 3 works better than griffin at the 3..... but thompson needs to play the 4 and 5 where he is at his best

we already have the sixthman in cisco so i think the best player to draft would be yo know who
 
Griffin is not a three. People would like him to be so we can have our cake and eat it too, but not the way it is. He is a frontcourt guy, so is Jason. They are duplicative, and we will ahve to figure out what to do about that if we get that top pick. You have either one of those gusy at the three, he is out of position, can't space the floor, and can't keep up with his man on defense.
