Green suspended for game 3

Its time for the Kings to draw on their road-game experience and put the vice-grips on this series tomorrow.

Early line had Warriors by 8.5 which has dropped to 5.5 with the suspension.

Kings just need to weather the early run as I think you're gonna see the Warriors bench play better. Time for Brown to reach into the bench a little farther. Kings size advantage is showing up against the Warriors similarly in the way the Wolves seem to have the advantage vs Kings - no reason the Kings shouldn't win the rebounding battle every game.

Now that he's out, Game 3 might be the time to go back to the signature DHO offense that GS has tried and mostly succeeded in neutralizing in the first two games.

GS won't have the horses to stop that in Game 3 without him and oddly enough because of the aforementioned schemes it will be a totally fresh new look through this series. despite it being their usual fare otherwise.

Tomorrow's game is gonna ride on Payton, Kuminga, Poole, Divencenzo, Moody stepping up for the Warriors. I expect Wiggins, Curry, Thompson to contribute at least 75 pts. They'll need at least 2 of those 4 to score in double figures. I think its an even better time to try Len in with Sabonis. Sag Len off their worst shooter, an back for penetration and let Sabonis run the high screens and get some exercise.

This is massive.

A lot of the problems Warriors are having is when they can’t play Curry off ball and he has to take on all the pressure.it was most glaring when Draymond was ejected.

It’s taking them too long to get into their offense. Draymond is really the only other guy that can take pressure off of Steph in that regard.

Kings have a great opportunity to put them down for the count tomorrow. Jump on them early

For those that don’t believe the suspension was warranted (nearly everyone who isn’t a kings fan and Joe Dumars) what act of violence would cross the line into suspension territory? Is a punch and fan involvement the only two? Choking I suppose. I get there is a little grey area because Sabonis started it (intentional or not) I don’t necessarily have the answer.

I would rather have the Kings play game 3 pissed off because Draymond didn't get suspended, rather than being happy that he did.

That said, Draymond has been agitating Domas all series with cheap shots and not really getting a response until that incident. I did wonder aloud what would happen next if DG had NOT been kicked out of the game. Like, what do you have to escalate to in order to get under Sabonis's skin?

This is a must-win game. We need to put them down 3-0 or we will likely head back to Sacramento tied at 2 games apiece.

The Warriors season starts with Draymond punching his teammate Jordan Poole, now its in the hands of the Kings to end their season with him getting suspended for Stomping on Sabonis.

Lame part is that like, lets say one of the Kings/Warriors has a great 3pt shooting game n the other doesnt, people will still fixate on Draymond instead of the players on the floor.

Spread is Warriors -5.5 even with the suspension btw.

I kinda prefered the storyline of the young upstart kings trying to take out the defending champs, but i guess this is where we're at.

Rodman was the superior rebounder, for sure. And probably was the more versatile defender due to being taller, longer and the better athlete.

But Dray is the FAR superior play maker with a much higher IQ offensively.

Honestly, I'd argue that, in his prime, Dray impacts both ends more than Rodman did. Dennis was largely a liability offensively aside from setting screens and securing offensive rebounds/tips (which he was phenomenal at).

I don't think the Warriors offense would have been near as lethal with prime Rodman in their lineup over prime Dray. And their defense was still damned good.

Conversely, you place prime Dray on those 1996-1998 Bulls teams, their offense is MUCH more versatile and dynamic. They lose rebounding, but defensively they are still a nightmare with Dray, MJ and Pippen. WOW.

Just how I see it.
dude benefited from throwing passes to the two greatest shooters of all time and the nba allowing him to get away with legit murder on both sides of the floor

I understand the suspension but I prefer to watch the teams at full strength and Sabonis was super sneaking by grabbing his leg and winning the mental warfare (I think he did Milk it very wisely, Sabonis is a bull you could jump from the top of the arena on him and he'd be fine) battle by keeping his composure while Green lashed out. I would have preferred a massive fine plus it adds more fire to the series but it is what it is he's gotten away with way to much. I always respect a good troll job and Sabonis got him if Robert Horry is allowed to win a series with a hip check on Nash, Sabonis can help win one with a leg grab.

I think the other Green will get most the minutes JaMichael.
mill never understood this time of thinking dude should’ve got more than two games I don’t care about full strength. GSW played so many teams that weren’t healthy on there championship runs it’s not even funny, they lose to Houston if CP3 doesn’t get hurt and it still took crooked refs and houston missing 20 3s for gsw to win

Barkley and others have made the point that Draymond yelling at the crowd in the aftermath, especially with the commissioner in attendance, likely played a part in why he got a one game suspension instead of just the ejection as punishment.
I'm sure that Adam Silver wants no part in a "Malice in the Palace Part 2". Draymond was instigating the crowd and the situation could had got a lot uglier really fast.

The Warriors and Draymond are lucky that his antics after the stomp didn't get him a longer suspension.

Pretty much. If you go back and look at his other incidents (like kicking Steven Adams) it's the same pattern. If these things were actually accidents then you check on the guy you just kicked or stomped. The fact that he immediately complains to the refs instead and pretends it didn't happen is a dead giveaway that it's intentional.

And it doesn't help your "my ankle was injured" ploy when in the aftermath you run around the arena and jump up on a chair to yell at fans.

It gives the Warriors an excuse if they end up losing this series, but this comes back to Draymond just continuing to be dirty.

Didn’t the dude literally just karate kick Herb Jones in the face like two weeks ago?
It feels good as a long time Boston sports fan that has had to deal with children running their mouths who never suffered through the 80s and 90s rooting for the Sox, Bruins and Patriots to know that Dubs Nation has squarely taken over as the most delusional fan base in all of pro sports. Congrats.

Honestly, Dray and the NBA are pretty lucky that him jawing at the crowd didn't escalate even further. He's sitting their jawing back and forth with the crowd, where a good chunk are likely drunk and they just watched their star player get curb-stomped on their own home floor. If someone chucks a beer at Dray, does anyone really think he just lets that happen?

The Warriors-Kings series is exactly what the NBA wants in the playoffs. New upstart team with an exciting offense and super marketable players that the general NBA public isn't familiar with yet vs the dynasty of the last decade trying to give one more run behind superstar Steph Curry. I believe game 2 was the most viewed game of the season and all anyone wants to talk about is the stomp.

Absolutely. He was doing his damndest to create Malice at the Palace Part 2. It’s so funny to see “Fan Codes” in every arena in the country demanding that fans treat the players with respect. But apparently there’s no Player Code, because Draymond’s teammates and assistant coaches are standing there applauding his antics—and the media and league continue to run interference for him.

In that circumstance, I think at most maybe Draymond gets somebody thrown out while yelling at them. The "Malice in the Palace" wouldn't have happened without the particular weaknesses of the players that were involved. Most other people have emotional guardrails that prevent them from flipping out to that level.

Draymond is from a different kettle of fish. He understands who and where he is, and why he's doing what he's doing. He's trying to get a competitive edge by making everyone else uncomfortable. And in the media, he's released the pressure from his team by making the story about him rather than the perilous 0-2 position the Ws are in.

Draymond is strong, and highly skilled, but don't sleep on his gamesmanship.

Green does everything intentionally to get under his opponent's skin. Laying on top of Sabonis in game one. The annoyingly aggressive clapping and staring in Lyles and Sabonis' face after plays. Smacking Lyles in the face in game 2. Butt bumping Sabonis in game 2 when he was running back into the game. Surely countless trash talking that we don't even see. And you know what? It's not working. The upstart Kings are playing like the business as usual spurs teams of the past. They aren't getting rattled. Playing their game and brushing off his nonsense. Their comments after game two about the "stomping" were so understated that made the comparison between the two teams composure laughable.
