Green suspended for game 3

The problem is who do they have to guard Sabonis? They need at least 10 of the 12 fouls for Looney and Green. They got rid of Wiseman. If they had a Naz Reid or a Poetl or a Len even to just get in and bang and throw him off with size they'd use him. This roster was built to destroy the Warriors. The only way they win is by outshooting us and NOT turning the ball over.

Bingo. I spent the day listening to Warriors radio - they are painfully aware of their lack of size. W/o Drugmound... Sabonis is set up to go off. Will be VERY interesting to see how he responds in game three.

I’m sitting here watching the Clippers and Suns game and you can bet your a$$ I jumped up off my couch, in my head did a ton back flips, when I heard the news that Green really got suspended a game!!! I had doubts as some of you read earlier but this makes me want to run down to Leatherbys and indulge in a huge sundae for celebration…

But I’ll just be happy AF and watch us take game 3 tomorrow night, game two we won with him for most of the game, now let’s take this game without that POS. Stay focus you guys and LET’S LIGHT THE BEAM

At least this appeases my ire. I was quite prepared to call for Adam Silver to be removed as Commissioner (and there still might be good reason), but he has bought a little time.

As a biased observer, I say it's too short, but I would have said that no matter what penalty was assessed. If Draymond had been disqualified from the NBA for life I'd have said it wasn't enough, and they should disqualify his kids for life too.

I wonder if the NBA had Shams float the "no suspension" rumor not as a trial balloon, but to prevent Kings fans from screaming when it wasn't 2+ games. Now we're happy it's one game.

One other thing to look out for. This could give the Warriors a little more juice on offense. Kuminga is going to start now and they will try to get him going. He hasn’t done much this series but he is super athletic and plays really good defense. Might open up a team with lengthy athletic wings that has given the kings a bit of trouble.

According to the Ws radio today - callers want Kuminga benched forever.... just sayin!

Good.

He may have gotten away without a suspension, but I'm guessing all the antics 5 minutes after the stomp happened is what sold them to suspend him. I imagine Silver didn't like Green taunting the crowd in the highest viewed playoff game this year either. Honestly pretty astonishing nothing else came from that where someone from the crowd didn't go too far and start a Malice in the Palace 2.0.

Team has to come out sharp here in game 3. Go at Looney, get him out of the game. The Warriors won't have anyone else to turn to defend the rim and keep Sabonis out of the paint. No more 0-10 3PA starts.

Also I LOVE how GSW twitter is trying to make Domas the bad guy lol. So absolutely delicious drinking their tears.

You can see Silver at the end of the video not happy.

You know what disappoints me most about that egging-on-the-crowd scene? Not Draymond being an a-hole, which is old news, but Steve Kerr and the rest of the Warriors staff doing NOTHING about it. I have a lot of respect for Kerr and very much consider him one of the league's good guys. And I get that he doesn't want to do too much to show his guy up at such an intense and pivotal time. But the coach HAS to try to tamp down on that classlessness, and the fact that the didn't raise a finger reflects poorly on him and the franchise.

The guy is going to probably get a bajillion dollar TV deal and save his job on that alone plus maybe another 10 billion they generate by adding Vegas and Seattle, all the while he's allowed gambling interests into the root of the game and is sabotaging the next crop of superstars. It will be interesting to see if he leaves the league in better shape than he found it but I highly doubt it outside of the almighty TV dollar.

its not just the Warriors fans believe it or not. I listened to parts of several National shows today (Eisen, Dan Patrick and more) and the consensus was Sabonis was mostly at fault, flopped, faked injury and Green was selfish and an idiot. Almost none of them thought the stomp was a big deal. It was mostly funny to them.

League manages to be both dumb and chicken. The problem with a one-game suspension is it increases the likelihood of a 03 warriors with Green showing up in a game four. Nobody needs a crystal ball to figure out what happens that night when the Warriors get down by 5 or 10 points down the stretch. Either be full chicken s*** and don't suspend him or at least take him out for two games or more for the good of the league.
You make a strong case.

Everyone can jump in lake for all I'm concerned. It's been us vs the NBA all season, I expected nothing to change once we got to the playoffs. We were laughed off the national stage last year after the Hali trade and now we're up 2-0 on the defending champs a year later. They were all so so wrong and are having a hard time grasping that fact.

This is basically what I was trying to come up with last night. No matter what level of fault you find Sabonis at, Green is still responsible for his own actions of being a tool and a dumbass.

I'll be bummed if Sabonis gets a rep because of this. But to be honest, I think most of the people were just very loud Dubs bandwagoners. Maybe they are repping their home team but not ready to throwaway their Warriors gear.

Draymond being considered the gritty heart of a championship dynasty while Dennis Rodman has somehow largely been relegated to wacky dumb guy whose repeated antics were a total distraction from the greatness of his teammates who totally didn’t need him anyways is so weird to me.

Both guys are among the greatest role players of all time and both guys engaged in more than their fair share of hijinks (although I don’t think any of Rodman’s antics ever wound up hurting his team as much as Draymond getting suspended for kicking Lebron in the balls during the 3-1 finals series did) but somehow Draymond largely gets a pass? Maybe it’s just the hair and sexual fluidity?

Maybe it's just me, but I've always had a great deal of respect for Steve Kerr. He's a very bright guy. Watching the video while he just turns his head and allowed Draymond to act like that to the fans with the commissioner sitting directly across court? Kerr nor ANY team member/staff did a thing to stop him/cool him off. Idiots.

Sabonis is already the most disrespected star in the league with the whistle he gets. The amount of contact we've watched him take vs fouls awarded to him has been downright pathetic all year. Can't go any lower if you're already at the bottom right?

no love for Woj but dying that Shams ran with this - he was probably testing the waters for Silver who realized it wouldn’t be good enough, or testing the waters for Silver to only do a one game when a multi game suspension is pretty clearly warranted for exactly the reasons ultimately given - long history of being a turd.

I thought we talked about this pdx...

It appears you've had a change of heart.

I've wanted to compare Dray to Dennis but I just can't, maybe the Bad Boy Pistons? But he just has NONE of Dennis's charm or quirkiness. I know Dennis also had some mental health issues and reports from my dad's social circle were that he passed social diseases around like candy, but I never got the impression he was a hurtful guy.
